Green is the colour people ask for by name and then struggle to place. Three hundred and fifty-six of them here, and the useful distinction is not the shade — it is what the glaze does with light. Gloss greens (162 of them) throw light back and read brighter than the sample suggests, which is why a north-facing kitchen usually wants one. Satin and matt sit quieter and hold their colour under downlights. Nineteen are hand-finished, where the glaze pools at the edges and no two tiles land the same.

What is actually here

Ceramic makes up the bulk of it (217), mostly wall tiles in the 12–25cm bracket — brick, metro, square, scalloped. Ninety are porcelain, which is where the floor-rated and outdoor options sit: 101 are cleared for floors and 38 are frost-proof for outside. Beyond that it thins into the specialist end — 19 marble, 17 glass, 8 zellige, a handful of terracotta and travertine.

Choosing a green

Sage and olive are the safe end and behave like neutrals against oak and brass. Emerald and bottle greens are a commitment — they want a large plain field or a small confident one, not a nervous middle. If the tile is going behind a hob or in a shower, check the finish as well as the shade: a gloss will show water marks that a satin will not.

Order two or three cut samples before you decide. Green is the colour most often chosen from a screen and most often regretted for it — daylight, LED and a north window will each give you a different tile. Samples are free; postage is £4.99 and refunded on tile orders over £50.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which colours go with green tiles?

Few colours are as versatile as green. However you style a green tile, there's a combination that works:

  • Dark green and white tiles: A sharp contrast, great for high-impact splashbacks that brighten the space or flooring.
  • Emerald green tiles with gold or brass fittings: An unapologetically luxurious combination.
  • Sage green and warm neutral tiles: Use sage with sandy beige, warm grey or terracotta for an earthy palette.
  • Green and blue tiles: Layer teal, duck egg, or navy alongside emerald or dark green for a nature-inspired scheme that feels cohesive and considered.
  • Green on green: Don't be afraid to mix dark green, emerald and sage tiles with hues of green paint for tonal layering.
  • Green with red options or purple tiles: Cooler greens like sage pair surprisingly well with muted plum, dusty rose, or terracotta red for an eclectic, characterful finish.

Can I order samples of green tiles?

Yes, and we highly recommend it! Green tiles can look quite different depending on the lighting in your space, so seeing a sample at home is the best way to check the true shade, glaze and finish.

At Hyperion Tiles, we offer up to 5 free-cut samples on most tiles, and a small fee on the full sample. Samples help you compare tones, feel the texture and see how the tile pairs with your other materials, like paint colours, cabinets or worktops.

Whether you’re choosing a soft sage metro, a deep emerald hexagon or a patterned encaustic-look tile, samples give you the confidence to make the right choice for your project. We’ll also offer advice on layouts, grout colours and how to mix green tiles with other finishes for a cohesive look.

Why choose green tiles for your home or commercial project?

Green tiles are a wonderful way to bring a sense of calm, nature and fresh energy into spaces. Many people love green because it works beautifully with natural materials like stone and wood, enhancing a feeling of warmth and tranquillity.

Green tiles can create striking feature walls, statement splashbacks or subtle floor designs that feel timeless yet full of character. In commercial settings like boutique hotels, restaurants or stylish washrooms, green tiles make a sophisticated impression while still feeling welcoming.

From deep forest greens and elegant emeralds to soft sage and pale mint, green tiles add depth and personality without overwhelming a room.

Do green tiles make a room look bigger or smaller?

Green tiles can make a room feel bigger or smaller depending on the shade, size and finish.

  • Light green tiles (sage, mint) reflect more light and help open up a space
  • Dark green tiles (forest, olive) create depth and a more intimate feel
  • Larger format tiles with fewer grout lines make a room appear more spacious
  • Gloss finishes make a space feel larger, while matt finishes can make it feel cosier

For best results, order some of our free cut samples to compare in your room to see how lighting affects the colour and overall space.

Are green tiles easy to look after?

Yes, no different than other colours, Green tiles are practical and straightforward to maintain, especially when you choose glazed ceramic or porcelain designs. These materials are non-porous, so they resist stains, moisture and daily wear, ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and high-traffic areas. A quick wipe with water and a pH-neutral cleaner will keep your tiles looking fresh.

Handmade or zellige-style tiles with crackle glazes may need sealing to protect against watermarks or staining. This is a simple process that helps preserve their beauty over time. For floor tiling installations, a quality grout sealer is also recommended to keep joints looking clean.

Green Tiles: Nature-Inspired Calm for Contemporary & Classic Interiors

The Green Tiles Collection at Hyperion Tiles invites the outdoors in with one of the most versatile and restorative colours in interior design. Green is associated with nature, tranquillity and balance, making it an ideal choice for both soothing retreats and bold, style-forward spaces. Whether you're working with sage, forest, mint or emerald tones, green tiles add colour without overwhelming the space, offering both subtlety and depth.

From glossy metro tiles to patterned porcelain and calming matt mosaics, our green tile range brings elegance, character and calm to walls and floors across your home.

Freshen Up Kitchens, Bathrooms & Living Spaces with Greens

Whether you’re designing a modern kitchen, refreshing a bathroom or creating a feature wall tile design in a hallway, green offers a unique balance of style and serenity. The collection features a variety of sizes, shapes and finishes, making it easy to incorporate green into both modern and traditional homes.

Calming Bathrooms with a Botanical Edge

Green tiles are a perfect fit for bathroom interiors, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Pale greens such as sage, eucalyptus or mint create a sense of freshness and light, while deeper shades like olive and forest green introduce richness and drama. Use them across shower enclosures or behind freestanding baths.

These tiles also pair beautifully with brass fixtures, white ceramics and natural textures for a serene and balanced look.

 Expressive Kitchens & Splashbacks

In the kitchen, green tiles work well as splashbacks, especially with wooden cabinetry, marble surfaces or matte black fittings. Glossy green metro tiles add a clean, traditional finish, while geometric layouts and patterned porcelain offer a more playful or vintage-inspired effect. Green works especially well in kitchens with lots of natural light, where the colour can shift and evolve throughout the day.

Available in Wall & Floor Tiles with Outdoor Options

Our full green selection features floor and wall tiles, giving you freedom to create colour-drenched designs across your space. Use large-format green porcelain tiles to ground a hallway or living area, or introduce patterned green floor tiles in an ensuite or boot room for charm and character.

Several styles are also suitable for exterior applications, helping to connect garden or patio spaces with your indoor aesthetic.

A Variety of Shapes, Finishes & Materials

Our green tile selection includes ceramic, porcelain, glass wall tiles and mosaic options in a wide range of finishes. Choose high-gloss green tiles for a reflective, high-contrast surface or opt for matt textures for a soft, velvety look. Shapes include classic rectangles, hexagons, squares and scallops, offering a wealth of layout options to suit both minimalist and decorative tastes.

Some designs feature handcrafted or handmade-style details, adding artisanal charm to your scheme.
