Suitability & installation

Where can this tile be used?

Suitable for walls and floors. It is also listed for outdoor use; confirm the substrate, drainage and fixing system for the exact project.

What is the material and finish?

Material: Porcelain. Finish: Matt. Natural variation, glaze and texture can look different under room lighting, so order a sample where available.

Can it be used with underfloor heating?

The current catalogue data lists this product as suitable with underfloor heating. The heating system, substrate, movement joints and adhesive still need to be specified correctly for the installation.

Is it suitable outside and is it frost resistant?

Outdoor/external use is included in the current catalogue data. A frost rating is not stated here; confirm it before specifying the tile for exposed external conditions.

Product story

Ornament Turned Down To A Whisper

Knightshayes drawn in light grey on a chalk ground, a 298mm porcelain square whose symmetrical foliage is designed to repeat across an entire floor with unusual restraint, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

The Knightshayes drawing is dense — a symmetrical arrangement of leaf and scroll forms that meets its neighbours at every edge, so four tiles complete a medallion and sixteen build a lattice. In light grey the whole thing is held one step back from the chalk behind it. Detail is all there under inspection; from standing height the floor reads as a pale figured surface rather than as a pattern making demands.

Dimensions: 298mm square, 8mm deep. Geometrically that is 0.0888m² apiece. The supplier's box holds six. Their published laying rate is 11.11 tiles per m². The approvals reach every wall position, dry floors indoors, and cladding or paving outdoors, which is what allows a garden room to continue through a pair of doors without a change of material. On a wet floor the rating assumes footwear.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Additional supplier returns have their own eligibility rules, charges and exclusions. These do not override statutory cancellation rights or rights for faulty goods. See our refund policy and supplier return guidance before arranging a return.

Installation & Care Tips

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: White flexible adhesive under the tile. Match the grout to the chalk rather than to the grey — a grey joint adds a second grid over a design that already carries its own.
  • Layout: Set the centre of the room first and let the medallions resolve outwards from it. If the pattern is started at a wall, the far side of the floor will finish on half a motif.
  • Cleaning: Warm water and mild detergent, applied with a soft cloth. Acidic cleaners and scouring powders should be kept off the glaze entirely. Seal the tiles ahead of the grouting stage, and give them a further coat after every trace of grout film has been cleaned away, as Original Style advise.
