Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 10mm and 20mm porcelain?

Standard 10mm porcelain is designed for indoor use and must be glued to a solid subfloor. 20mm porcelain is a "structural" paver; it is much stronger and can be installed using traditional grit/sand methods, onto gravel, or using a pedestal system for balconies and roof terraces.

Are Minoli outdoor tiles slip-resistant?

Yes. All Minoli outdoor pavers are specifically manufactured with a textured surface to achieve an R11 slip-resistance rating. This ensures they provide adequate grip even when wet, making them safe for patios and pool surrounds.

Do I need to seal outdoor porcelain?

No. One of the primary benefits of porcelain over natural stone or concrete is that it is non-porous. It does not require sealing to protect against water, stains, or frost damage, saving you significant time and money on maintenance.

Can these tiles be installed on pedestals?

Absolutely. Because they are 20mm thick and rectified for precision, Minoli pavers are ideal for use with adjustable pedestal systems. This is a popular method for apartments with balconies or terraces where drainage and weight are key considerations.

How do I clean my outdoor porcelain?

Maintenance is minimal. For general cleaning, use a brush and warm soapy water. For deeper cleans, a pressure washer can be used without the risk of damaging the tiles or fading the colour.

Why Choose Minoli 20mm Outdoor Paving?

The Minoli Outdoor Paving range is the gold standard for luxury external flooring. Unlike traditional concrete slabs or natural stone, these 20mm porcelain pavers are incredibly dense, meaning they will not absorb water, fade in sunlight, or require the constant maintenance of porous materials.

Seamless Indoor-to-Outdoor Transitions
One of the biggest trends in modern architecture is the "inside-out" look. Many Minoli collections offer a 10mm version for your Kitchen Floor Tiles and a matching 20mm version for your patio. This allows you to create a continuous floor level that makes your home feel significantly larger. If you prefer a more industrial look for your garden, explore our Concrete Effect Floor Tiles in 20mm formats.

Superior Safety and Durability
Safety is paramount for outdoor areas, especially around pools or in rainy weather. Minoli outdoor porcelain features a textured surface that provides an R11 slip rating, offering excellent grip underfoot. These tiles are also resistant to heavy loads, making them suitable for high-traffic paths. For a more organic, textured feel, consider our Stone Effect Floor Tiles or the opulent look of Marble Effect Floor Tiles designed for external use.

Low Maintenance Luxury
Because they are non-porous, Minoli pavers are highly resistant to the salts and chemicals often used in gardens. They are exceptionally easy to clean—a simple jet wash is usually all that’s needed to keep them looking brand new. If you are looking for a different aesthetic for your outdoor walls, you might also be interested in our Outdoor Wall Tiles.
