Product story
Where a Band Becomes a Panel
A slim 152 x 38mm moulding meant to run round all four sides of a tiled area: the Artworks Baroque Blue Hogarth Moulding, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Hogarth takes its name from the picture frames of the eighteenth century, and the profile follows the same reasoning — a shallow, evenly stepped section with a defined outer edge, kept narrow at 38mm so that it borders an area without competing with what sits inside it. The section is symmetrical, which means it reads the same running vertically as it does horizontally. That is precisely what allows a length of it to turn a corner, travel down the side of a panel and return along the bottom.
Framing is what that symmetry buys you. Carry the Hogarth up the sides as well as along the top, and what you had as a band of tiling becomes a contained panel: behind a range, around a basin, across a chimney breast in a kitchen. Where the tiling turns an outside corner, the matching Baroque Blue external corner trim carries the edge round so that no pale unglazed body is left showing on a cut. Framed in this warm, green-leaning blue, the panel holds its own beside brass or unlacquered copper, and against warm white paint above.

Installation & care
Installation & care
- Adhesive & Grout: Bed the Hogarth on white flexible adhesive. Joint it in something carrying warmth of its own — greige, putty, a warm grey — and the border holds together as one continuous length. A grey with blue in it pulls the glaze towards a colder, flatter reading; brilliant white lifts the joints to a brightness the glaze itself never reaches, so the run loses its evenness at close range. Grout haze shows plainly on a gloss face, so take the residue off while it is still damp.
- Layout: Set out the vertical returns first and let the horizontal runs meet them, so the corner joints land where you intended rather than where the last full piece happens to finish. Measure all four sides of the panel before ordering, allowing 6.6 pieces to the linear metre.
- Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.
Samples
Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.
Delivery
In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.
Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.
