Product story

The Line of Beauty: Artworks Vintage White Hogarth Moulding 152 x 38mm

A slim 152 x 38mm ceramic moulding with a gently sinuous profile in a warm creamy white, for finishing a wall quietly and well — from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

Named for the flowing S-curve William Hogarth called the line of beauty, this is one of the most restrained profiles in the Artworks range. It gives a tiled wall a proper finished edge and a soft shadow line, without the ornament of a rope twist or the weight of a deep dado.

That restraint makes it unusually versatile. It caps a half-height wall neatly in a contemporary bathroom, and layers beautifully beneath a deeper moulding or above a skirting where a built-up, joinery-inspired detail is wanted. The warm glaze follows the curve, catching light along its full length.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Use a white flexible tile adhesive and grout to match the field tiles, keeping the curved face clear of residue while the grout is still workable.
  • Layout: Set the moulding line out before tiling the field. Internal corners are mitred on site — allow around 10% extra for cuts and mitres.
  • Cleaning: No sealing required. Warm water and a mild detergent are sufficient; avoid abrasive pads, which will dull the curve.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hogarth moulding?

A slim 38mm dado profile with a gentle stepped curve, named after the sinuous line of beauty William Hogarth described in the eighteenth century. It is one of the more restrained Artworks profiles — ideal where a wall should be properly finished without announcing itself.

How is the Hogarth moulding sold?

By the box of 4 pieces, covering 0.6 linear metres at 6.6 pieces per linear metre. Measure the run to be capped, add roughly 10% for cuts and mitres, then divide by 0.6.

Will Vintage White match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same Vintage White glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings, skirtings and corners are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

What adhesive and grout do you recommend for Artworks ceramic tiles?

Always use a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through a white glaze and dull it. Allow a 2-3mm joint and choose a white grout for a seamless, luminous wall, or a soft grey to draw the eye to the layout.

Can I see a sample before I order?

Yes. Cut samples are free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or we can post one to you for the cost of postage. Seeing the glaze in your own light is the surest way to judge how it will sit against your paint, stone and metalwork.
