A Considered Line: Artworks Brilliant White Albert Moulding 152 x 40mm

A stepped 152 x 40mm ceramic dado moulding, weighty enough to define a wall but restrained enough for any scheme — from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

The Albert sits in the middle of the Artworks moulding family: more substantial than the slim Astragal or Scroll, less declarative than the deep Victoria. Its stepped profile catches light cleanly along its length, giving a wall a crisp horizontal without the ornament of a rope or dentil relief.

Use it to cap a half-height tiled wall, to frame a panel of field tiles, or layered with a finer profile above or below for a built-up, joinery-like effect. The Brilliant White glaze pools softly in the steps of the moulding, giving the piece depth. Matching left and right external corners are available to turn a run.

For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the Albert moulding sit in a scheme?

It is a mid-weight dado moulding, 40mm deep, with a stepped profile that catches light along its length. It works well capping a half-height wall, framing a panel of field tiles, or paired with a slimmer profile such as the Astragal or Scroll for a layered, period effect.

How is the Albert moulding sold, and are corners available?

By the box of 4 pieces, covering 0.6 linear metres at 6.6 pieces per linear metre. Matching Albert left and right external corners are available separately to turn the profile cleanly around a corner.

Will Brilliant White match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same Brilliant White glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings, skirtings and corners are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

What adhesive and grout do you recommend for Artworks ceramic tiles?

Always use a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through a white glaze and dull it. Allow a 2-3mm joint and choose a white grout for a seamless, luminous wall, or a soft grey to draw the eye to the layout.

Can I see a sample before I order?

Yes. Cut samples are free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or we can post one to you for the cost of postage. Seeing the glaze in your own light is the surest way to judge how it will sit against your paint, stone and metalwork.

Installation & Care Tips

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Use a white flexible tile adhesive and match the grout to the field tiles so the moulding reads as part of the wall rather than an applied strip.
  • Layout: Set the dado height out first and tile to it. Internal corners are mitred on site; external corners are supplied as separate left and right pieces.
  • Cleaning: No sealing required. Warm water and a mild detergent, with a soft brush for the stepped profile; avoid abrasive pads and acidic cleaners.
