A Restrained Dado Rail: Artworks Palladian Beige Albert Moulding

A stepped 152 x 40mm ceramic moulding in a warm stone beige — the Artworks Palladian Beige Albert Moulding, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

Where the Victoria is emphatic, the Albert is quietly architectural. Its shallow stepped profile gives a wall a clean horizontal break without dominating it, which makes it the more adaptable of the two dado mouldings.

Use it as a dado in a hallway or cloakroom, as a border above a splashback, or as the transition between two tile colours. Dedicated corner pieces are not stocked in Palladian Beige, but the profile is shallow and mitres cleanly on site.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Additional supplier returns have their own eligibility rules, charges and exclusions. These do not override statutory cancellation rights or rights for faulty goods. See our refund policy and supplier return guidance before arranging a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the Albert moulding sit in a scheme?

It is a mid-weight dado moulding, 40mm deep, with a stepped profile that catches light along its length. It works well capping a half-height wall, framing a panel of field tiles, or paired with a slimmer profile such as the Astragal or Scroll for a layered, period effect.

How is the Albert moulding sold, and are corners available?

By the box of 4 pieces, covering 0.6 linear metres at 6.6 pieces per linear metre. Dedicated Albert corner pieces are not stocked in Palladian Beige, so a projecting corner is mitred on site. The stepped profile is shallow and mitres cleanly, but do allow a little extra material. Call us if you would like us to check availability with Original Style.

Will Palladian Beige match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same Palladian Beige glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings and the skirting are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, and a warm tone shows that variation a little more readily than a white, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

Can Artworks Brilliant White tiles be used in a shower or wet room?

Yes. Artworks is specified for both wet and dry wall areas, so it is at home in a shower enclosure, a wet room or around a bath. The background must be sound, dry and properly tanked, and a flexible waterproof adhesive and grout should be used throughout the wet zone.

Can I see a sample before I order?

Yes. Cut samples are free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or we can post one to you for the cost of postage. Seeing the glaze in your own light is the surest way to judge how it will sit against your paint, stone and metalwork.

Installation & Care Tips

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white flexible tile adhesive and grout in a warm sand or putty tone. On a relief profile, keep grout off the face of the moulding and clean up promptly, as it is far harder to remove from the recesses once set.
  • Layout: Set the moulding out first and work the field tiles to it, so the line runs true and any cuts fall out of eyeline. Measure the run in linear metres and allow extra for mitred corners.
  • Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.
