Each box contains 44 tiles and covers 0.50m², at 86 tiles per square metre. Work out your wall area in square metres, add about 10% for cutting, then divide by 0.50 to give the number of boxes.

It is the classic 152 x 76mm brick format that metro tiling is built on, but with a straight rather than bevelled edge. That gives a flatter, more understated wall. If you would prefer the shadow line of a bevel, our Vintage White Metro Bevelled tile offers the same glaze in a bevelled body.

Vintage White is the warmer of the two. Where Brilliant White is a clean, cool, almost optical white, Vintage White carries a soft creamy undertone and a gentler glaze, so it reads as older and quieter — far more sympathetic to period joinery, aged brass and lime-washed plaster. In a north-facing room it warms rather than chills. Order a sample of each if you are torn; they look quite different on a wall.

Yes. Artworks is specified for both wet and dry wall areas, so it is at home in a shower enclosure, a wet room or around a bath. The background must be sound, dry and properly tanked, and a flexible waterproof adhesive and grout should be used throughout the wet zone.

No. Artworks is a glazed ceramic wall tile, specified for internal walls only. If you would like a floor to sit alongside it, our team can suggest a porcelain or encaustic-effect tile that complements Vintage White and carries the wear rating a floor requires.

As a guide, add around 10% to your measured area for cuts and breakages, and nearer 15% for a herringbone, diagonal or brick-bond layout. It is also worth keeping a few spare tiles from the same batch in case a repair is ever needed.
