A field tile is typically a square (152x152mm), whereas a half tile is the rectangular version (152x76mm). Half tiles are commonly referred to as subway or brick tiles and are often used to create brick-bond or herringbone patterns.

How many half tiles do I need per square meter?

For the 152x76mm format, you will need approximately 87 tiles per m². We always recommend ordering an additional 10% to cover cuts and wastage.

Can Artworks half tiles be used in a shower?

Yes, these glazed ceramic tiles are perfectly suitable for wet wall areas, including shower enclosures. However, if you choose a crackle-glaze finish, you must use a sealer before grouting to protect the delicate glaze from moisture and grout staining.

Do these tiles require a specific grout width?

To maintain a traditional period look, a grout joint of 2mm to 3mm is recommended. Using a light grey or off-white grout can help emphasize the individual tiles and mimic the look of historical mortar.
