What is the difference between a Cornice tile and a standard Dado moulding?

The Cornice tile is significantly taller and deeper than a standard dado rail (like the Albert or Victoria mouldings). It is designed to look like traditional ceiling cornicing or a grand plinth, making it the most visually prominent capping option in the Artworks range.

Is this tile suitable for a shower area?

Yes. Cornice tiles are made of glazed ceramic and are suitable for wet wall environments. Due to the deeper profile and horizontal "ledge" created by the relief, we recommend ensuring it is cleaned regularly to prevent water or soap residue from sitting on the flat sections of the moulding.

How many pieces do I need per linear metre?

Each tile is 152mm long. To cover one linear metre, you will need approximately 6.6 tiles. We always suggest ordering an additional 10% to account for cuts and corner mitring.

Do I need corner pieces for the Cornice range?

Yes, external "oyster" corners are typically available in matching glazes. Because the Cornice tile has such a deep relief, using pre-made corner pieces is highly recommended to achieve a professional finish on external corners or around window reveals.

Will the glaze match my other Artworks tiles?

Yes. The Cornice tile is finished using the same translucent glazes as the rest of the Artworks range, ensuring a perfect colour match across your entire project, from field tiles to borders.
