Goodrich Foundry Oak is a floor with a story to tell. Defined by its "Extra Rustic" grade, each block is alive with detail, featuring large knots, dark fillers, and a distressed surface that mimics the wear of a busy workshop floor. The colour palette is equally striking: a molten mix of deep browns, burnished coppers, and rich auburn undertones that glow with warmth. Finished with five coats of traditional Hardwax Oil, the timber retains a natural, breathable satin sheen that allows the texture of the wood to take centre stage. With a robust 4mm real oak wear layer and a stable engineered core, this floor offers the heavy-duty character of a reclaimed floor with the modern reliability of precision engineering.

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

What colour is Foundry Oak?

Foundry Oak is a warm, dark floor that moves beyond simple brown. It features deep auburn, copper, and red undertones that give it a "glowing" appearance, similar to aged mahogany or burnished metal. It is significantly warmer than the cool Espresso Oak or the neutral Coffee Oak.

What does "Extra Rustic" mean?

This grade celebrates the natural imperfections of the wood. Expect large knots, dark fillers, splits, and significant colour variation between planks. These features are intentional and give the floor its "timeworn" industrial character.

How do I look after the Hardwax Oil finish?

Hardwax Oil is a natural finish that penetrates the wood. Unlike lacquer, which forms a plastic skin, oil allows the wood to breathe. You should clean it with a specialist wood soap that feeds the oil. The major benefit is that scratches can be blended away with a little maintenance oil, rather than requiring a full sand-down.

⚠️ Professional Installation Tips

Fitting Method: Goodrich blocks feature T&G joints. We strongly recommend a full surface bond (glue-down) installation for the most solid feel and to minimise movement in this rustic grade timber.
Underfloor Heating: Compatible with UFH. A full glue-down installation is required to ensure efficient heat transfer and board stability.
Maintenance: This floor is Oiled. You should use a liquid wax cleaner (like Woodpecker One Coat Soap) to clean and nourish the floor. Do not use standard detergents.
