Product story
A Concave Sweep Where The Wall Meets Its Neighbour
A 152 x 26 x 7mm coved profile in gloss treacle brown: the Artworks Teapot Brown Sigma Moulding, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
The Sigma is a coved trim — a shallow concave sweep across a 26mm face, 7mm thick. Its purpose is transitional rather than decorative. It takes the hard right angle where a tiled wall meets a worktop, a windowsill or a floor and turns it into a curve, which looks considerably better and is very much easier to wipe.
It earns its keep in working rooms: behind a butler's sink, along the back of a worktop, at the foot of a tiled wall in a pantry or a larder. Brown is the historically correct colour for exactly those spaces. Glazed brown was the workhorse of the Victorian utility interior — the dairy, the butcher's shop, the station platform — chosen because it looked handsome and never showed a day's work. Run against a buff or red quarry floor, the Sigma makes the junction between the two look considered rather than merely finished.

Installation & care
Installation & care
- Adhesive & Grout: White flexible adhesive, finished with a warm taupe, soft biscuit or mid to dark grey grout. A brilliant white is the one to avoid — against this depth of brown it draws a hard pale lattice rather than a joint. One or two shades lighter than the tile is plenty.
- Layout: Fix the Sigma before the field tile above it and scribe the field tile down to meet it; the cove wants a continuous, unbroken line along its top edge. Seal the junction with the worktop or floor with a flexible sealant, not grout.
- Cleaning: Nothing needs sealing. Clean with warm water and a mild detergent, and keep abrasive pads and acid-based limescale removers away from the glaze, which they will dull.
Samples
Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.
Delivery
In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.
Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.
