Product story
A Slim Half-Round Bead
At 152 x 21mm this is a slim half-round bead, fully curved in section and finished in a deep green gloss: the Artworks Edwardian Green Astragal Moulding, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
An astragal is a bead: a plain semicircular section, fully rounded, with no flat top and nothing cut into it. Its history is architectural before anything else — the astragal is a classical moulding, the small convex bead that rings a Doric or Ionic column just below the capital — and it went on to become a staple of the joiner's bench as well, the bead worked along a glazing bar, a door stile, the edge of a panel. It carries that quietness with it into ceramic. At 21mm it is a slim line, made to be felt in a scheme rather than looked at.
Reach for it wherever a hard edge would be too abrupt. Where a run of field tiling meets plaster, where a tiled panel stops and the wall carries on, where two planes come together and the join wants softening rather than announcing — the half-round takes that change and rounds it off, so the eye passes over it instead of catching on it. The deep green does the rest: an unbroken curve carries one continuous highlight along its crown and shades down to a fuller green beneath, with no facet or arris anywhere to break the colour, so the line registers as a soft gleam along the wall rather than as a moulding stuck on it.

Samples
See the whole tile before you decide. A full-tile sample is available for this product, so you can judge the complete pattern, colour and finish in your own light.
The sample is £9.49. Sample postage from £8 per supplier. Eligible sample buyers receive a fixed £8 credit on a £50+ tile order, once per customer. This is not a refund of combined multi-supplier postage.
Use the sample option in the buying panel above to add it to your basket. Review your samples and the combined postage at checkout before paying.
Delivery
In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.
Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.
Additional supplier returns have their own eligibility rules, charges and exclusions. These do not override statutory cancellation rights or rights for faulty goods. See our refund policy and supplier return guidance before arranging a return.

Installation & Care Tips
Installation & care
- Adhesive & Grout: Fix on white flexible adhesive. For the joints, a mid to deep grey serves well, as does a green-grey borrowed from the glaze itself; either lets the bead carry on as one line. At full brightness a white joint puts a bright tick at every join and the eye begins counting pieces instead of following the curve. At the other extreme, charcoal or black smothers the colour, and what should be a line of green turns into a dark edging strip. On a section this narrow the joint sits right under the eye, so strike it neatly and clear haze early, because gloss this deep will hold it.
- Layout: A bead is usually fixed after the field tiling, so leave a clean, straight edge for it to sit against. Where it turns an outside corner, most fitters work a mitre or carry the bead round the angle and stop it cleanly on the next wall — on a section this slight a trim is seldom wanted at all. If one is wanted, Original Style make it individually and we hold no stock of it, so raise the question at planning stage. Because the section is round, a mitre wants a steady hand: cut generously and offer the pieces up dry first, remembering that a cut end shows a pale biscuit line against the glaze.
- Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.
