Product story

Depth, Drama, Definition: Solide Charcoal

Ground your interiors with the brooding beauty of dark natural stone in this 60 x 120cm matt porcelain tile from Hyperion Tiles.

Solide Charcoal moves through near-black and deep graphite greys, flecked and veiled like freshly split basalt. Substantial V4 shade variation gives every tile its own temperament, so a whole floor reads as genuine stone rather than a repeated print, while the velvety matt surface absorbs light for a wonderfully calm, enveloping feel.

A glazed porcelain with crisp rectified edges, it is designed for internal walls and floors and external walls alike. Frost-proof and R10 slip-rated, it makes a striking anchor for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and statement living spaces.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Use a flexible large-format porcelain adhesive with full back-buttering; a charcoal or anthracite grout keeps joints discreet.
  • Layout Options: Stack bond suits the format best; limit any brick offset to a third of the tile length to avoid lippage.
  • Cleaning: Mop with warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner; avoid waxes or polishes that could dull the matt surface. No sealing required.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate how many Solide Charcoal tiles I need?

Measure your area in square metres and divide by 1.44, because each pack of two 60 x 120cm tiles covers 1.44m2 (around 1.39 tiles per m2). Round up to full packs, then add 10% for cuts and wastage. For help with tricky layouts, call us on 01344 620211.

Where can I use Solide Charcoal?

Solide Charcoal suits internal walls and floors as well as external walls. It is a frost-proof glazed porcelain with an R10 slip rating, so it is well suited to kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and dramatic feature walls, inside and out.

What is the finish and slip rating of Solide Charcoal?

Solide Charcoal has a matt glazed finish with an R10 slip rating for dependable everyday grip. Its V4 substantial shade variation means the dark tones and stone markings vary from tile to tile, exactly as they would in quarried basalt.

Can I order a sample of Solide Charcoal?

Yes. A 15 x 15cm cut sample of Solide Charcoal is free to collect from our family-run showroom at 67 High Street, Ascot, or we can post one to you for a small postage charge. Dark tiles change character with the light, so we always recommend sampling first.
