A long, creamy 228 x 75mm gloss ceramic brick that lends a wall real horizontal sweep — the Artworks County White Large Brick, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

The 228 x 75mm format is the larger cousin of the traditional metro brick, and the extra length changes the character of a wall entirely: fewer joints, longer lines and a calmer, more contemporary surface that still belongs in a period house.

It suits a kitchen splashback that needs to read as one continuous band, a shower wall where fewer grout lines mean an easier finish, or a hallway run in a stacked bond. In a soft County White glaze the scale never feels severe.

⚠ Installation & Care Tips

Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through the glaze — and grout in a soft off-white or warm putty tone, which sits more comfortably with County White's creaminess than a stark brilliant white.
Layout: Allow a 2-3mm joint and set out from the centre of the wall so cuts fall evenly at each end. Order around 10% extra for cuts and breakages.
Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.

How many Large Brick tiles come in a box?

Each box holds 15 tiles and covers 0.254m², at 59 tiles per square metre. Calculate your wall area, add around 10% for cuts, then divide by 0.254 to find the number of boxes required.

How does the 228 x 75mm format change the look of a wall?

The longer brick draws the eye sideways, so laid horizontally it makes a narrow room read as wider, while stacking it vertically lifts a low ceiling. It is also a generous format for herringbone, where the elongated proportion gives the pattern noticeably more movement than a standard brick.

Can Artworks Brilliant White tiles be used in a shower or wet room?

Yes. Artworks is specified for both wet and dry wall areas, so it is at home in a shower enclosure, a wet room or around a bath. The background must be sound, dry and properly tanked, and a flexible waterproof adhesive and grout should be used throughout the wet zone.

Will County White match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same County White glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings, skirtings and wrapping pieces are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

What adhesive and grout do you recommend for Artworks ceramic tiles?

Always use a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through a white glaze and dull it. Allow a 2-3mm joint and choose a white grout for a seamless, luminous wall, or a soft grey to draw the eye to the layout.

How much extra should I order for cuts and wastage?

As a guide, add around 10% to your measured area for cuts and breakages, and nearer 15% for a herringbone, diagonal or brick-bond layout. It is also worth keeping a few spare tiles from the same batch in case a repair is ever needed.
