Dramatic Artisanal Sophistication: Maroc Ceramic Nero 9.9x9.9cm

Capture the bold, mysterious beauty of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship with the Maroc Ceramic Nero Tile by Ca' Pietra.

A striking centerpiece of our Maroc Ceramic series (formerly known as Berber) is a sophisticated tribute to the ancient Zellige tradition. This collection is expertly rated for internal floors and walls, offering a durable ceramic solution that combines artisanal charm with modern performance. The Nero colourway delivers a deep, midnight-black palette, finished with a high-gloss glaze that shimmeringly reflects light across its characterfully undulated surface.

Crafted at a substantial 10mm thickness, these 9.9x9.9cm tiles feature a V4 high shading variation, ensuring that every installation captures a unique, handmade energy. Whether you are creating a high-contrast kitchen splashback or a prestigious, light-reflecting floor in a luxury bathroom, the Maroc series provides an authentic texture that is moisture-resistant and remarkably easy to maintain without the need for specialist sealing.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Grout: We recommend a 2-3mm grout joint. For a monolithic black look, use Anthracite grout; for a striking architectural grid, try White or Silver Grey to emphasize the artisanal tile edges.
  • Adhesive: Use a high-quality flexible ceramic tile adhesive. Ensure full bed coverage for floor installations to provide a permanent and robust bond.
  • Layout: To showcase the V4 variation, always blend tiles from multiple boxes during installation for a balanced, harmonious spread of tonal black hues.
  • Cleaning: Maintain the glossy surface with warm soapy water and a soft mop or cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners to preserve the long-term clarity of the ceramic glaze.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Does the "Nero" colourway make a room feel too dark?

While Nero is a deep, true black, its high-gloss finish and undulated surface act as a mirror for light. Instead of absorbing light like a matt black tile, the Maroc Nero reflects it in multiple directions. This creates a shimmering, "liquid" effect that adds depth and drama without making the space feel enclosed.

Can I pair these with other colours in the Maroc range?

Absolutely. One of the most popular ways to use Maroc Nero is in a classic chequerboard pattern with the Maroc Ceramic Bianco. Because both tiles share the same 9.9x9.9cm format and artisanal texture, they combine perfectly to create a traditional yet characterful floor or feature wall.

How do I keep the black glossy finish looking clean?

Glossy black ceramic is exceptionally easy to wipe down. For wall splashbacks, warm soapy water and a soft cloth are usually sufficient. For floors, we recommend regular sweeping to remove grit followed by a damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. The natural tonal variation of the V4 rating is also very forgiving, helping to mask minor dust between cleans.
