Product story

Artisanal Exotic Depth: Maroc Ceramic Bordeaux 9.9x9.9cm

Introduce a sense of dramatic warmth and handcrafted character to your home with the Maroc Ceramic Bordeaux Tile by Ca' Pietra.

A definitive standout in our Maroc Ceramic series (formerly known as Berber) is a sophisticated tribute to the ancient Moroccan Zellige tradition. This collection is expertly rated for internal floors and walls, providing a durable ceramic solution that combines artisanal beauty with modern practicality. The Bordeaux colourway delivers a rich, deep burgundy palette, finished with a high-gloss glaze that shimmeringly reflects light across its characterfully undulated surface.

Crafted at a substantial 10mm thickness, these 9.9x9.9cm tiles feature a V4 high shading variation, ensuring that every installation captures a unique, handmade energy. Whether you are creating a bold kitchen splashback or a prestigious, light-reflecting floor in a luxury bathroom, the Maroc series provides an authentic texture that is moisture-resistant and remarkably easy to maintain without the need for specialist sealing.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Grout: We recommend a 2-3mm grout joint. For a rich, integrated look, use a deep grout colour like Bitter Chocolate or Russet to complement the Bordeaux tones.
  • Adhesive: Use a high-quality flexible ceramic tile adhesive. Ensure full bed coverage for floor installations to provide a permanent and robust bond.
  • Layout: To showcase the V4 variation, always blend tiles from multiple boxes during installation for a balanced, harmonious spread of tonal burgundy hues.
  • Cleaning: Maintain the glossy surface with warm soapy water and a soft mop or cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners to preserve the long-term clarity of the ceramic glaze.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to use the "Bordeaux" colourway?

The Bordeaux colourway is a bold choice that works exceptionally well as a statement feature. It can be used to create a vibrant kitchen splashback, a dramatic shower wall, or a luxurious decorative floor. For a more graphic look, many designers pair it with the Maroc Ceramic Bianco to create a classic yet artisanal chequerboard pattern.

Are these glossy ceramic tiles durable enough for floors?

Yes. The Maroc range is a high-performance ceramic collection expertly rated for both internal walls and residential floors. The vitrified ceramic body ensures longevity and ease of maintenance, while the high-gloss glaze provides a sophisticated, light-reflecting surface that is naturally resistant to moisture and staining.

Do I need to seal these Zellige-effect tiles?

No. Unlike traditional handmade clay tiles or certain natural stones, the Maroc Ceramic range is glazed and non-porous. This means it does not require any specialist sealing upon installation or long-term maintenance sealants, making it a highly practical choice for busy modern homes and wet areas.
