The Octagon Grid, Read The Other Way Round
York Inverted turns the usual balance over, giving black the ground and Dover White the dot, and if you have looked at the standard version and wanted more weight underfoot, this is the one to take from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Inverting an octagon-and-dot floor changes the room before it changes the pattern. A dark ground draws the walls in and makes a wide hall feel more settled, while the Dover White dots become small points of light rather than a field of them. Grit and wet footprints also show far less on the darker reading.
Both shades belong to a 9mm vitrified body finished matt, with nothing applied over the top. Unglazed tiling of this sort is approved for outdoor floors as much as indoor, so the inverted grid can be carried across a threshold and down a path without becoming a second specification.

When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Installation & care
- Setting Out: Centre the octagon grid on the doorway you use most, then check across the full width that the dots hold their line rather than drifting towards one wall.
- Adhesive & Grout: Flexible cement-based adhesive over a flat and thoroughly dry bed, with the grout taken from the black ground so the white dots stay the only bright thing on the floor.
- Sealing & Cleaning: Unglazed tiles want a sealer as soon as the finished floor has dried right through; after that a neutral cleaner and regular sweeping is the whole routine.

Once an order has been placed, goods that are in stock can normally be dispatched within 3–5 working days. Delivery of special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware and sizeable orders is best carried out on one of our specialist off-load vehicles, so timescales will be advised before any tiles are ordered. A specific delivery date will be arranged to suit you.
