A Crisp, Reflective Frame: Silver Mirror Bevel

The Silver Mirror Bevel comes to you from Hyperion Tiles, part of our mirror glass collection.

Bright, clean silver mirror glass with a precise bevelled edge, this border piece is made to frame and finish reflective wall schemes. The chamfer throws a fine line of light around panels and splashbacks, adding polish and definition without the aged patina of an antiqued mirror.

Made from solid mirrored glass, it is non-porous and wipe-clean, and pairs with its matching Silver Mirror Bevel Finishing Piece for tidy corners and returns.

The Hyperion Family Promise

  • Design Continuity: Pairs with the Silver Mirror Bevel Finishing Piece and sits neatly alongside mirror-glass field tiles.
  • Premium Durability: Bright silver mirror glass with a non-porous, wipe-clean surface.
  • Order a Sample: Request a sample to collect from our Ascot showroom, or have one posted for a small postage charge.
  • Dedicated Delivery: Enjoy free UK delivery on orders over £1,000.
  • Personalised Project Support: Sold per piece (200 x 100mm). Our team will help you calculate the run you need.

⚠ Installation & Care Tips

  • Adhesive & Grout: Always fix with a white glass tile adhesive — mirror glass can show a darker adhesive through the tile, so white keeps the reflections clean and bright.
  • Layout Options: Run as a border or dado to frame a mirror-tile panel; pair with the Finishing Piece to turn neat corners.
  • Cleaning: The glass surface is non-porous and wipe-clean, ideal for kitchen splashbacks, shower and bathroom walls and other wet areas. Take particular care with the bevelled cut edges during handling.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Can antique mirror tiles be used in a bathroom or shower?

Antique mirror tiles are well suited to bathroom walls, and they are a popular choice behind basins and baths where the reflective surface opens up a small room.

Inside a shower enclosure we would ask you to speak to us first. The mirrored backing is applied to the rear face of the glass, and constant direct water contact combined with the wrong adhesive can cause the backing to lift or spot over time. In a wet area we recommend a neutral-cure, mirror-safe adhesive and a properly waterproofed substrate. Our team can specify the right products for your build-up.

Will antique mirror tiles show my reflection clearly?

No, and that is the point of them. Antique mirror is deliberately aged and speckled, so it gives a soft, broken, slightly smoky reflection rather than the crisp image of a bathroom mirror.

That distressed quality is applied by hand, so the density and pattern of the antiquing varies from tile to tile. Expect variation across a wall — it is what gives the finish its depth and period character.

How do I cut antique mirror tiles?

Mirror glass should be scored and snapped with a good quality glass cutter, not cut on a wet saw with a standard tile blade, which tends to chip the silvered backing.

Cut edges will show the raw glass, so plan your layout to keep full tiles at the most visible points and cut edges where they will be covered by trim or fittings. We also supply matching finishing pieces for exposed edges on many of our mirror ranges.

How should I clean antique mirror tiles?

Use a soft cloth with warm water or a standard non-abrasive glass cleaner on the face of the tile. Buff dry to avoid water marks.

Avoid ammonia-based cleaners and never let cleaner pool along the grout joints or tile edges, as liquid tracking behind the tile is the main thing that damages a mirrored backing. Do not use abrasive pads or scouring cream.

How many tiles of this size do I need per square metre?

At 200 x 100 x 8mm, each tile covers roughly 0.02m², which works out at about 50 tiles per square metre.

To work out your order: multiply the height by the width of each area you are tiling to get the total square metres, multiply that figure by 50, then round up to the nearest full tile. Add 10% on top for cuts and breakages, or around 15% for a herringbone or diagonal layout.

If you would rather not do the sums, send us the dimensions of your space and we will confirm the quantity — and if you are close to a box quantity we will tell you, as it is often cheaper to take the full box. Free cut samples are available, and you are welcome to see the range in our Ascot showroom.
