Rustic Cotto carries the warm, russet-brown glow of traditional fired clay, its surface gently mottled with the tonal shifts and soft imperfections of a genuinely handmade floor. It is the kind of tile that makes a kitchen feel instantly lived-in and welcoming, and it sits beautifully alongside timber, cream plaster and aged brass.

Crafted in Spain by Gayafores Ceramicas from glazed porcelain, it delivers that aged, characterful look with none of the sealing or staining that real terracotta demands. Frostproof and hardwearing, it works across internal floors and walls and carries the same warmth out onto sheltered external walls.

Installation & care

Adhesive & Grout: Use a high-quality flexible adhesive and grout suitable for porcelain. A warm buff or soft grey grout flatters the clay tones without competing with them.
Shade Variation: Rustic carries a V3 moderate variation, so tone shifts noticeably from tile to tile. That is the character of the range — dry-lay a few square metres first and mix tiles from several boxes as you go.
Cleaning: Sweep and clean with warm water and a mild floor cleaner. Unlike genuine terracotta, this glazed porcelain needs no sealing and will not stain.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Where can I use Rustic Cotto?

Rustic Cotto is a frostproof Spanish glazed porcelain suitable for internal floors and walls, as well as external walls. With an F3 rating it suits moderate domestic floor traffic such as kitchens, living rooms and hallways, and it is compatible with underfloor heating. Please note it is rated for external walls, not external floors.

Does Rustic need sealing?

No. Although it recreates the look of aged terracotta and worn stone, Rustic is glazed porcelain, so it needs no sealing and will not stain or absorb water. It carries a V3 moderate shade variation, which gives the range its authentic, characterful look — we recommend mixing tiles from several boxes as you lay.

Can I order a sample of Rustic Cotto?

Yes. We offer a free 15 x 15cm cut sample, and a full tile sample is also available. Samples are free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or posted to your door for a small postage charge.
