Product story
Twelve Millimetres — The Slimmest Piece In The Artworks Range
A 152 x 12mm ceramic strip in a warm leaf green, the narrowest piece Artworks makes and the finest line you can draw in tile: the Artworks Palm Green Omega Moulding, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
The Omega is a plain, gently rounded strip, twelve millimetres from top to bottom, with nothing worked along it at all. It exists to make a line. Where a wide moulding announces the top of a run, this one simply draws it — a single fine rule that separates one thing from another and then gets out of the way. Used in pairs it becomes a pinstripe with a course of field tile between, which is a very old and very effective way of setting a panel of tiling apart from the wall around it.
Small rooms and tight positions bring out the best in it: framing a cloakroom splashback, running beneath a shelf, edging a niche, or banding a half-height wall in a boot room or a potting room where a heavy capping would crowd the space. On a leaf green the narrowness works in its favour — twelve millimetres of gloss glaze catches a highlight along its whole length and reads as a bright green line, sharper and more saturated than the flat face of the field tile beside it.

Installation & care
Installation & care
- Adhesive & Grout: White flexible adhesive is essential on a piece this fine, since any grey behind it will show as a shadow through the glaze. Grout in a soft stone, a warm off-white or a pale green-grey, and keep the joints tight. Brilliant white is a poor choice here — against a 12mm strip the grout reads almost as strongly as the tile, and a hard white line drags the whole scheme towards the institutional. A cool or blue-grey grout is just as unhelpful, working directly against the yellow that gives this green its warmth.
- Layout: Strike a level line and fix to it. On a strip this narrow the eye measures the moulding against the ceiling and the worktop, and a millimetre of fall over a metre will show. Take care when cutting: the biscuit under the glaze is pale, so a cut end appears as a light line and should be turned into a corner or towards the least visible end of the run. Mitre where the band turns an external angle.
- Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.
Samples
Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.
Delivery
In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.
Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.
