Product story
Twelve Millimetres, and the Slightest Piece We Hold
The Charcoal Grey Omega Moulding, 152 x 12mm, is the finest beaded bar in the Artworks range and the narrowest piece we stock in this colourway at all, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Twelve millimetres is barely a moulding at all — it is a bar with a small bead worked along it, and that is the whole of its ambition. It exists for the situations where a proper moulded course would be too much, or would simply not fit: the inside edge of a frame, the joint where a tiled panel meets plaster, the narrow return beside a doorway or an alcove. Pieces are 152mm long, as everything in the range is, so a linear metre accounts for 6.6 of them while each box of four provides 600mm. A 1.8-metre length needs 12 pieces, which is three boxes.
There is a genuine argument for choosing the smallest profile in the set rather than the largest. Across twelve millimetres of face there is almost nothing for the eye to hold except the way the glaze behaves over the bead — thinner and brighter along the crown, deeper in the two hollows beside it — so the piece amounts to little more than that tonal break. On a wider moulding you are buying a shape and the colour is a bonus; here the colour is the shape. Set the Omega where a wall needs a line and not a band: outlining a panel, finishing the edge of a splashback, or separating two areas of tiling that would otherwise run into one another. Handed Omega corners exist but are not held here — Original Style will make them in Charcoal Grey against a special run, with a quantity threshold and a wait, so tell us at the planning stage and not once the tiler has begun.

Installation & care
Installation & care
- Adhesive & Grout: Use a fine-notched trowel and a thin, even bed. A 12mm piece sitting on too much adhesive will stand proud of the tiling beside it, and on a profile this narrow that difference in plane is the first thing a visitor notices.
- Layout: Fit the Omega last, once the tiling around it has set, and cut it to the opening you actually have rather than the one on the drawing. A long piece can be trimmed down cleanly; a two-millimetre gap cannot be filled convincingly.
- Cleaning: There is nothing to seal; the gloss glaze is non-porous. Warm water and a mild detergent will do it. Abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers should be avoided, as both will flatten the shine over the years.
Samples
Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.
Delivery
In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.
Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.
