Reactive Blue Rounds: Copenhagen Penny Round Blue

A classic penny-round porcelain mosaic in a glossy reactive blue — Copenhagen Penny Round Blue from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

Little circular ‘pennies’ give this mesh-backed mosaic a soft, tactile charm. The reactive glaze varies from disc to disc, so the blue drifts between pale sky and deeper denim across the sheet — a gentle, hand-glazed movement that brings a wall or shower to life. It is made for feature walls, wet rooms and splashbacks.

Supplied on a 29.6 x 28.4cm sheet in durable glazed porcelain, it is easy to fix around curves and needs no sealing — a playful, low-maintenance detail for a bathroom or kitchen.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix the mesh-backed sheets with a white flexible adhesive so it does not shadow through the glaze, and choose a grout that complements the reactive tone.
  • Layout Options: Keep the round spacing consistent between sheets, blending sheets from several boxes to make the most of the natural reactive variation.
  • Cleaning: Wipe with warm water and a mild cleaner. Glazed porcelain needs no sealing and resists splashes and steam.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What grout colour should I use?

To make the blue circles pop and emphasize the geometric shape, we recommend a crisp contrast like Mapei Ultracolour Plus 100 White or 103 Moon White.

For a softer, more cohesive look, a light grey like Mapei Ultracolour Plus 110 Manhattan works beautifully to tone down the busy pattern.

For a moody, seamless finish, choose a darker grout like Mapei Ultracolour Plus 113 Cement Grey or 114 Anthracite.

Is this ceramic or porcelain?

This is a porcelain mosaic. Porcelain is significantly harder and more durable than ceramic, making it suitable for floors, wet areas, and swimming pools.

Can I use this on the floor?

Yes, absolutely. The small size of the "pennies" creates many grout lines, which naturally provides excellent slip resistance, making it one of the safest choices for bathroom and wet room floors.

Do I need to seal these tiles?

No. The high-quality reactive glaze creates a non-porous surface that is resistant to water and staining. No sealing is required.

Is it suitable for underfloor heating?

Yes. Porcelain is an ideal material for use with underfloor heating as it conducts heat efficiently and the mosaic format easily handles thermal expansion.
