Alpine Timber, Reimagined: Chamonix Almond

Enjoy the warmth of natural wood with none of its upkeep thanks to Chamonix Almond, a matt porcelain wood-effect floor tile in a striking 100 x 100cm format from Hyperion Tiles.

Soft almond and pale honey tones flow through a finely drawn timber grain, rated V2 for slight variation so the pattern reads naturally across large floors. The oversized square format is unusual for a wood look - fewer grout lines, more uninterrupted warmth.

Made from glazed porcelain with a matt, R9 slip-rated surface and rectified edges, Chamonix Almond is designed for internal floors in kitchens, hallways, living spaces and bathrooms, and works beautifully with underfloor heating.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Use a flexible adhesive rated for large-format porcelain with full-bed coverage; a warm beige grout blends with the grain.
  • Layout Options: A simple grid suits the metre-square format - ensure a perfectly flat substrate and consider a levelling system for lippage-free results.
  • Cleaning: Sweep and mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. No sealing or oiling ever required.

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate how many Chamonix Almond tiles I need?

Each Chamonix Almond tile covers exactly one square metre, and tiles are sold by the pack of 2 covering 2m². Measure your floor area, divide by 2 and round up to whole packs, then add 10% for cuts and wastage. Call us on 01344 620211 if you would like help with your numbers.

Where can I use Chamonix Almond?

Chamonix Almond is designed for internal floors - kitchens, hallways, living areas and bathrooms - and is well suited to underfloor heating. It is not frost-proof, so it should not be used outdoors.

What is the finish and slip rating of Chamonix Almond?

Chamonix Almond has a matt glazed finish with an R9 slip rating (DIN 10165-B) and a V2 slight variation, giving a natural, realistic wood grain underfoot. As glazed porcelain it needs no sealing - just sweep and mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Can I order a sample of Chamonix Almond?

Yes - a 15 x 15cm cut sample of Chamonix Almond is free to collect from our showroom at 67 High Street, Ascot, or can be posted to your door for a small postage charge. It is the easiest way to check the almond tones against your scheme.
