Description

Soft Pearl Sheen: Triton Metallica Glass Wall Tile 100 x 100mm

An off-white metallica glass square with a gentle pearlescent glow, from Hyperion Tiles.

Part of our Glassworks collection, Triton wears a soft off-white metallic finish that catches light with a quiet, pearl-like shimmer. In a neat 100 x 100mm square it brings a calm, luminous quality to kitchen splashbacks, bathroom walls and feature panels, working beautifully in pale and neutral schemes.

Formed from non-porous glass, the surface is light-reflective, moisture-resistant and simple to wipe clean. The compact square lays cleanly in a straight grid or offset pattern, and its reflective face helps smaller rooms feel brighter and more open.

The Hyperion Family Promise

  • Design Continuity — Triton is offered in 100 x 100mm and 300 x 100mm formats for a joined-up off-white scheme
  • Premium Durability — non-porous glass that wipes clean and resists moisture
  • Order a Sample — free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or posted for a small postage charge
  • Dedicated Delivery — free UK delivery on orders over £1,000
  • Personalised Project Support — sold per tile; our team will help you calculate quantities

⚠ Installation & Care Tips

  • Adhesive — always fix with a WHITE glass tile adhesive; a translucent glass tile shows darker adhesive through the body, dulling the finish
  • Edges — take care with cut or exposed edges and finish them with a matching trim
  • Where to use — non-porous and wipe-clean; ideal for kitchen splashbacks, shower and bathroom walls and other wet areas
  • Cleaning — wipe with a soft cloth and mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What gives these tiles their metallic finish?

The metallic effect is applied to the glass rather than being a solid metal tile. Depending on the range, it is achieved with a fired metallic glaze, a vapour-deposited coating, or metal leaf applied behind the glass.

Because the effect sits in or behind the glass, it keeps the depth and light-catching quality of glass while reading as brushed or polished metal. It also means the surface stays non-porous and easy to clean.

Will a metallic glass tile tarnish or discolour?

The metallic layer is protected by the glass itself or by a fired surface, so it will not tarnish the way bare brass or copper does. It should hold its colour indefinitely on an interior wall.

What does mark it is abrasive cleaning. Scouring pads, cream cleaners and limescale removers can dull or scratch the finish. Warm water and a soft cloth is all it normally needs.

Are metallic glass tiles suitable behind a hob or in a shower?

Behind a hob, yes — they are non-porous and wipe clean, which makes them a strong splashback material. Observe your appliance manufacturer's clearance from direct flame.

In a shower, most of our metallic glass ranges are suitable for the walls, but a few of the leafed finishes are not rated for constant direct water. Tell us which tile and which area and we will confirm before you order.

Do metallic tiles show fingerprints and water marks?

Polished and mirror-like metallic finishes will show marks in the same way any gloss surface does, particularly in a hard water area. Brushed and satin metallic finishes hide them considerably better.

If the tile is going somewhere heavily handled or splashed, such as around a basin, a brushed or textured finish is usually the easier choice to live with. Buff dry after cleaning to avoid limescale spotting.

How many tiles of this size do I need per square metre?

At 100 x 100 x 10mm, each tile covers roughly 0.01m², which works out at about 100 tiles per square metre.

To work out your order: multiply the height by the width of each area you are tiling to get the total square metres, multiply that figure by 100, then round up to the nearest full tile. Add 10% on top for cuts and breakages, or around 15% for a herringbone or diagonal layout.

If you would rather not do the sums, send us the dimensions of your space and we will confirm the quantity — and if you are close to a box quantity we will tell you, as it is often cheaper to take the full box. Free cut samples are available, and you are welcome to see the range in our Ascot showroom.
