Product story

Turning the Pattern: Artworks Poppy & Wheatsheaf Corner Tile on County White

A 152 x 152mm decorated ceramic corner tile that carries the Poppy & Wheatsheaf pattern around an angle, on the soft, creamy County White ground — from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

A decorated border that simply stops at a corner and starts again never quite convinces. The corner tile solves it: the motif is composed to turn the angle, so a run of border can travel around a chimney breast, a window reveal or the return of a splashback without the pattern breaking.

One corner piece is needed for each angle the border turns. Supplied individually, so you can order exactly the number your scheme requires rather than a whole box.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through a pale ground — and grout in a soft off-white or warm putty tone so the joint does not cut across the pattern.
  • Layout: Fit the corners first and run the border into them, so the pattern turns cleanly and any cut falls in the plain field rather than mid-motif.
  • Cleaning: The glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull a decorated surface faster than a plain one.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

How do I work out how many border and corner tiles I need?

Measure each straight run in metres and divide by 0.152 to give the number of border tiles, then add one corner tile for every angle the border turns. Set the decorated run out first and work the plain field tiles to it, so the pattern lands centrally and any cut falls in a corner rather than mid-motif. Ring us with your measurements if you would like us to check the count.

How are the decorated tiles supplied — individually or by the box?

Individually. They are packed five to a box, but you order the exact number of pieces your scheme needs rather than a whole box — which matters with decorated tiles, since most schemes want a precise count rather than a round one.

What is the Poppy and Wheatsheaf design?

A nineteenth-century floral pattern — poppies and ears of wheat drawn in the naturalistic style the Victorians favoured for fireplace and washstand tiles. It is printed onto the same County White ceramic ground used across the plain Artworks range, so the decorated pieces sit against the field tiles without a shift in tone.

Will County White match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same County White glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings, skirtings and wrapping pieces are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

Can I see a sample before I order?

Yes. Cut samples are free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or we can post one to you for the cost of postage. Seeing the glaze in your own light is the surest way to judge how it will sit against your paint, stone and metalwork.
