Where the Wall Meets the Floor: Artworks Palladian Beige Skirting Tile

A moulded 152 x 152mm ceramic skirting in a warm stone beige, made to close the joint between a tiled wall and the floor — the Artworks Palladian Beige Skirting Tile, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

A tiled skirting does what a timber one cannot: it takes water, mops and knocks without swelling or peeling. The moulded profile throws a gentle shadow along the base of the wall and gives a room a proper architectural footing.

In Palladian Beige it does that job quietly, reading as a band of stone rather than a bright white line at floor level — particularly effective above a flagstone or terracotta floor. Moulded corner pieces are not stocked in this colour, so external corners are mitred on site.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white flexible tile adhesive and grout in a warm sand or putty tone rather than a brilliant white, which would read as a bright line along the floor.
  • Layout: Set the skirting out first and tile up from it, so the field courses run from a level base. Measure each wall run in linear metres and allow extra for mitred corners.
  • Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Where does a ceramic skirting tile sit?

At the base of a tiled wall, where it meets the floor. Originally intended to protect plaster from mops and boots, it now does the elegant work of closing the bottom of a tiled scheme and giving a clean, wipeable junction with the floor — particularly useful in a bathroom or utility room.

How is the Skirting Tile supplied, and are corner pieces available?

By the box of 4 pieces, covering 0.6 linear metres at 6.6 pieces per linear metre. Moulded skirting corner pieces are not stocked in Palladian Beige, so external corners are mitred on site. Measure the perimeter to be skirted, add roughly 10% for cuts and mitres, then divide by 0.6 to give the number of boxes.

Will Palladian Beige match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same Palladian Beige glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings and the skirting are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, and a warm tone shows that variation a little more readily than a white, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

Can Artworks Brilliant White tiles be used in a shower or wet room?

Yes. Artworks is specified for both wet and dry wall areas, so it is at home in a shower enclosure, a wet room or around a bath. The background must be sound, dry and properly tanked, and a flexible waterproof adhesive and grout should be used throughout the wet zone.

Is this piece held in stock, and how is it delivered?

Artworks Palladian Beige is usually held in stock. We arrange careful parcel or palletised delivery depending on the size of your order, and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000. If your project is time-sensitive, call us and we will confirm availability before you order.
