Turning a Corner Cleanly: Artworks Ivory External Corner Trim

A 152 x 30mm ceramic trim with a rounded external profile, made to close an outward-facing corner — the Artworks Ivory External Corner Trim, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

An outward corner is where tiling is most vulnerable: the arris chips, the cut edge shows and a metal trim rarely flatters a period scheme. This piece removes the problem by carrying the glaze around the angle in a soft rounded bead.

Use it on a chimney breast, a boxed-in pipe, a window reveal or the return of a shower wall. It matches the Ivory field tiles exactly. A coved internal trim is not stocked in Ivory, so inward angles are simply butted and grouted.

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

What is an external corner trim for?

It is a slim, rounded profile fixed to an outward-facing corner — the edge of a boxed-in pipe, a chimney breast or a window reveal — so the tiling turns the corner in glaze rather than in a cut edge or a strip of plastic trim.

How is the External Corner Trim sold?

By the box of 4 pieces, covering 0.6 linear metres at 6.6 pieces per linear metre. Measure the height of each external corner you need to cover, add the totals together, allow around 10% for cuts, then divide by 0.6.

Is there a matching internal corner trim in Ivory?

No — the external corner trim is the only corner trim stocked in Ivory. Internal angles are normally simply butted and grouted, which is entirely conventional and looks perfectly neat. The coved internal trim is made in other Artworks colours, so call us if you would like us to check whether one could be brought in for your scheme.

Will Ivory match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same Ivory glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings and the skirting are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

Can Artworks Brilliant White tiles be used in a shower or wet room?

Yes. Artworks is specified for both wet and dry wall areas, so it is at home in a shower enclosure, a wet room or around a bath. The background must be sound, dry and properly tanked, and a flexible waterproof adhesive and grout should be used throughout the wet zone.

Installation & care

Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through the glaze — and grout in a soft off-white or pale stone tone, which suits Ivory's cooler cream better than either a stark brilliant white or a warm putty.
Layout: Count the corners in your scheme and the number of courses each one turns, then order a piece for every course. Fit the corner pieces first and run the field tiles into them.
Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.
