Edwardian Green Metro Bevelled Tile 75 x 75mm
Product details
Description
Square Off the Metro and Double the Grid
Squared at 75 x 75 x 10mm and chamfered on every edge, this is the Artworks Edwardian Green Metro Bevelled Tile 75 x 75mm, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Take the metro, shorten it to a square and keep everything else: 75mm each way, 10mm of body, and the same chamfer around all four edges. Halving the face area doubles the count, so a square metre takes 177.8 of these against 88.9 of the 150 x 75mm — twice as many, not four times — and with them comes twice the length of bevel and joint. What you get for that is a much finer grid, closer in scale to the small glazed squares that fronted Edwardian shops and lined the newly plumbed bathroom.
Put it where a small format earns its place: a narrow return beside a window, a splashback, a cloakroom taken floor to ceiling, the riser beneath a counter, or a band set on the diagonal inside a field of larger tiles. In this deep green the multiplied chamfers give a surface that flickers with small highlights as you move past it, which stops a compact space from feeling closed in — and because the glaze is mixed to a copper-free recipe, that surface is as sound over a bath or inside a shower enclosure as it is on a dry wall. Cut pieces lose their bevel and leave the raw ceramic body showing as a light, unglazed stripe against the green, so plan the setting out to keep whole tiles at the visible edges. As for an outside angle, no wrapping piece sits on our shelves for it, so the tiles are mitred at the corner or a bead is brought round to close it. Original Style do press such a trim to individual order in this colour if a design cannot do without one — worth a conversation with us first, since specials carry their own minimums and timescales.
The Hyperion Family Promise
- Design Continuity - The Artworks range in Edwardian Green is available from us — field, half, large brick and metro tiles, skirting, plain cornice and the full set of ten mouldings — so a whole scheme can be completed from one source.
- Premium Durability - A hard, gloss-glazed ceramic body made for internal walls, including showers, wet rooms and splashbacks.
- Order a Sample - Free cut samples are free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or posted to your door for the cost of postage.
- Dedicated Delivery - We arrange safe, secure delivery for your project, with free UK delivery on orders over £1,000.
- Personalised Project Support - Our family-run team can help you calculate quantities: a 75 x 75mm tile covers 0.005625m², so a square metre takes 177.8 of them and the boxes mount up quickly. The boxes themselves hold eight tiles and cover 0.0465m² as supplied, so it pays to measure twice.
⚠ Installation & Care Tips
- Adhesive & Grout: Bed on white flexible adhesive. With this much joint per square metre the grout is doing half the design work, so hold it in the middle: mid to deep grey, or a green-grey close to the tile itself. Brilliant white turns a small format into graph paper laid over the green; charcoal or black draws a heavy net across it and makes the colour read far darker than the tile in your hand. Deep gloss shows haze plainly, so clean off section by section rather than at the end of the day.
- Layout: A small format punishes casual setting out, so run a level line every few courses. Stack bond gives a strict grid that suits the Art Nouveau line of a period bathroom; half bond softens the arrangement without losing the fine scale.
- Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.

Usually in stock. Remember: Delivery is FREE on orders over £1,000! Visit our family-run showroom at 67 High Street, Ascot, to see the Original Style range in person — and ask us to put a tile through the cutter while you watch, since a sawn piece loses its chamfer and opens a pale biscuit edge, and once you have seen exactly what that looks like you will know which edges of your wall can take a cut and which cannot.
