Contemporary Stone Logic: Ascoli Porcelain Grigio 40x40cm

Capture the sophisticated, cool-toned allure of natural grey travertine with the high-definition precision of the Ascoli Porcelain Grigio 40x40 Tile by Ca' Pietra.

A modern highlight of our Stone Effect Collection, the Ascoli Porcelain series (formerly known as Tivoli) emulates the organic, dappled textures of geological stone with remarkable fidelity. This classic 40x40cm format features a contemporary Grigio base, offering a neutral yet characterful foundation for modern interiors. The Satin finish provides a soft-touch, non-reflective surface, while the non-rectified tumbled edges provide an authentic, hand-finished quality that brings a sense of permanence to your space.

Crafted from 9.5mm thick high-performance porcelain, these tiles are engineered for both internal floors and walls. Because the Ascoli range is non-porous and resistant to staining, it requires no sealing, making it a highly practical alternative to natural travertine. The tumbled edge detail allows for a traditional 3-5mm grout joint, delivering a prestigious architectural aesthetic that balances a cool, modern palette with the timeless texture of natural stone.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive: Use a high-quality flexible porcelain tile adhesive. For wall installations, ensure the substrate is properly primed for a permanent bond.
  • Grout: We recommend a 3-5mm grout joint to complement the tumbled edge. Cool neutral grout colours like Silver Grey or Manhattan will perfectly enhance the cool Grigio tones.
  • Cleaning: Maintain the satin surface with warm soapy water and a microfibre mop. Porcelain is non-porous and naturally resistant to the stresses of a modern home.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the "Grigio" colourway a good choice for modern homes?

The Grigio colourway offers a sophisticated, cool-toned palette that replaces the traditional warm beiges of travertine with modern greys. It retains all the dappled, organic textures of natural stone but fits perfectly into monochromatic or industrial-luxe interior schemes. In the 40x40cm format, it provides a clean, balanced look for both floors and walls.

How do I install these tiles to ensure they look like real stone?

Because the Ascoli range features a non-rectified, tumbled-effect edge, it is essential to use a wider grout joint—typically between 3mm and 5mm. This allows the natural-looking irregularities of the edges to be showcased, creating the authentic appearance of hand-finished flagstones.

Can these porcelain tiles be used in a wet room?

While these tiles are high-performance porcelain and naturally moisture-resistant, they carry an R9 slip rating. This makes them ideal for standard internal domestic floors like kitchens and bathrooms. For a dedicated wet room floor where a higher level of slip resistance is often required, we recommend consulting with your installer or exploring our R11-rated collections.
