Outdoor porcelain is usually supplied as a robust 20mm-thick paver, designed for patios, paths and terraces, while natural stone paving comes in various calibrated thicknesses. The extra strength suits the demands of an exterior installation, and the tiles can be laid on a full mortar bed or, for porcelain, on raised pedestals for a level deck.

Outdoor porcelain is non-porous and doesn't need sealing, which is part of why it's so low-maintenance outdoors. Natural stone paving is porous and should be sealed with a suitable exterior sealer to protect against staining, weathering and algae, then maintained over time. We'll recommend the right products for your chosen paving.

Yes — many of our porcelain ranges come in both a standard indoor thickness and a 20mm outdoor paver in the same design, so you can run a seamless look from a kitchen or garden room straight out onto the terrace. It's a beautiful way to blur the line between inside and out, and we can help you pair the right formats.

Measure the area, add around 10% for cuts and wastage (more for complex shapes or diagonal layouts), and round up to whole crates.
