Oxford at 106mm in black and Dover White is the plain chequerboard, run at a small scale so a hall of any width keeps its proportion, ordered from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Dover White is warmer and softer than a modern brilliant white, which is what stops the contrast turning stark. Set against black it gives the chequer a slightly aged quality the day it is laid.
A 106mm square suits narrow spaces: the repeat comes round quickly, so a passage reads as patterned rather than as a handful of oversized squares. Laid on the diagonal it widens the room; laid square to the walls it lengthens it.

When your order arrives

Returns
To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

- Setting Out: Decide between square and diagonal before ordering, because a diagonal adds cuts at every wall and changes the quantity.
- Adhesive & Grout: Flexible adhesive over a sound screed, and grey grout rather than white, which stops the joints yellowing in a doorway.
- Sealing & Cleaning: Sealing is part of the job with an unglazed tile: do it after the floor dries, then wash with a pH-neutral product.

Once an order has been placed, goods that are in stock can normally be dispatched within 3–5 working days. Delivery of special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware and sizeable orders is best carried out on one of our specialist off-load vehicles, so timescales will be advised before any tiles are ordered. A specific delivery date will be arranged to suit you.
