Suitability & installation

Where can this tile be used?

Suitable for floors. It is also listed for outdoor use; confirm the substrate, drainage and fixing system for the exact project.

What is the material and finish?

Material: Ceramic. Finish: Matt. Natural variation, glaze and texture can look different under room lighting, so order a sample where available.

Can it be used with underfloor heating?

The current catalogue data lists this product as suitable with underfloor heating. The heating system, substrate, movement joints and adhesive still need to be specified correctly for the installation.

Is it suitable outside and is it frost resistant?

Outdoor/external use is included in the current catalogue data. A frost rating is not stated here; confirm it before specifying the tile for exposed external conditions.

Product story

The Warmer Of The Two Whites, Set Against Black

Exeter runs black against Dover White, and where the decision has come down to which white to use, this is the pairing that keeps a hall from turning clinical, specified and supplied from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

Dover White is the softer white held in this range. Beside black it carries a trace of cream, and in a hall that faces away from the sun that trace is what separates a handsome floor from a cold one. The colder white sharpens the same pattern; Dover White flatters old joinery, a painted front door and brass that has gone dull.

Colour goes into the clay rather than onto it. These are vitrified ceramic tiles of 9mm with a matt face, unglazed, so a knocked edge shows black or Dover White instead of a pale seam. Interior and exterior floors are equally within scope, which lets a porch and the hall behind it be settled as one decision.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Additional supplier returns have their own eligibility rules, charges and exclusions. These do not override statutory cancellation rights or rights for faulty goods. See our refund policy and supplier return guidance before arranging a return.

Installation & Care Tips

Installation & care

  • Setting Out: Mark the sight line from the front door and put the first whole tile on it, then dry-lay outward until you can see exactly where the cuts fall.
  • Adhesive & Grout: Bed on flexible cement-based adhesive spread over a level base, and choose a grout pitched between the two colours rather than siding with either.
  • Sealing & Cleaning: No glaze protects the face, so seal the floor once it is laid and dry, then keep to a pH-neutral cleaner and lift grit before it is walked in.
PLAN IT ONCE. KEEP IT TOGETHER.
