A Deep Teal Foundation: Empress Tourmaline Base Ceramic Skirting Tile
Empress Tourmaline Base, a moulded deep tourmaline teal (a rich blue-green) ceramic skirting trim from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.
The Empress Tourmaline Base completes the foot of a Beatrice wall in a deep, jewel-like tourmaline teal — a moulded skirting tile that anchors the botanical field tiles with an elegant base course. It is a trim piece, sold individually.
Made in glazed and decorated ceramic with a genuine crackle glaze, its 15.2 x 15.2cm profile has a softly crazed, period surface. Set it beneath the Beatrice Tourmaline field tiles and matching dado to build a full Empress wall.

⚠ Installation & Care Tips
- Sealing: The crackle glaze is porous — seal the tiles before grouting, and again after, to protect the crazed surface from staining.
- Adhesive & Grout: Fix to a sound, dry interior wall with a quality flexible adhesive and grout in a soft, tonal shade. Keep a 3mm joint to allow for the natural size tolerance.
- Cleaning: Wipe with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner; avoid harsh abrasives and acidic products that can dull the glaze. For interior walls only — not suitable for floors or external use.

Delivery And Returns
Access Issues For Large Pallet Deliveries
Our delivery drivers may be prevented from delivering your order by the following:
• Low hanging trees and bridges.
• Narrow roads, gateways, or cars on either side of the road.
• No turning point for the delivery vehicle.
• Unfinished tracks and roads.
• Lack of solid and flat surface to unload.
• Gravel driveways.
If access issues are not advised and/or delivery cannot be made due to unattendance at delivery, a re-delivery charge may be applied.
Checking Orders
Check your delivery as soon as it arrives!
Once the goods are unloaded, they become the responsibility of the receiver.
If you notice any issues with your order, please contact us within three working days so we can resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. Prompt reporting helps us ensure your satisfaction with our products and services.
Fired Earth Tile Returns
Returns are accepted only for complete orders; partial orders cannot be accepted. To begin a return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your delivery.
All other Brands
You may return your items within 14 days of receiving or collecting your delivery. Please note that a restocking fee of 20% to 30% will apply, depending on the specific terms of the product range. For further details, feel free to contact us.

Shipping Information
Once an order has been placed goods that are in stock, can normally be dispatched for delivery within 3-5 working days. Delivery of special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware and sizeable orders is best carried out on one of our specialist off-load vehicles, so timescales will be advised before any tiles are ordered. A specific delivery date will be arranged to suit you.
