A Polished Marble Base: East Hampton Marble Skirting Trim

A honed white marble skirting to finish the junction of floor and wall in natural stone — East Hampton from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

This skirting is a trim piece — a marble base moulding that replaces conventional timber skirting for a fully co-ordinated stone scheme. Cut from genuine white marble with cool grey veining, its 12.7cm height gives a clean, hard-wearing finish to bathroom and hallway floors.

Sold individually, each length works hand in hand with the East Hampton field tiles, dado and mosaics. As a natural stone it is unique piece to piece, and being real marble it should be sealed on installation to guard against moisture and staining.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Why use marble skirting instead of wood?

Marble skirting offers superior durability, especially in wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens. It won't rot, warp, or need repainting, and it creates a seamless, high-end look when matched with a marble floor.

Is this real stone?

Yes, this is genuine natural limestone. It matches the Palio floor and wall tiles perfectly, featuring the same authentic fossils and honing. It is not a ceramic imitation.

How do I go around corners?

As there are no specific "corner pieces" for this moulding, external corners should be "mitred" (cut at a 45-degree angle) by your tiler. This creates a neat, continuous join where the two pieces meet at the corner.

Does it need sealing?

Yes. Natural limestone is porous. To prevent absorption of water, oils, and dirt, it must be sealed upon installation. We recommend sealing before and after grouting for maximum protection.

Why buy Fired Earth tiles from Hyperion Tiles?

We are an authorised Fired Earth retailer with a family-run approach. This means you get the same premium products but with faster, personal technical support, expert advice on sealers and adhesives, and free delivery on orders over £1,000.

Installation & Care Tips

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white, flexible natural-stone adhesive and a matching pale grout for a seamless transition to the floor tiles.
  • Sealing & Care: Being real marble, seal before grouting and again once installed. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never vinegar, bleach or acidic products, which will etch natural marble.
  • Layout: Measure the room perimeter and allow for mitred cuts at internal and external corners; dry-lay first to plan neat joints.
PLAN IT ONCE. KEEP IT TOGETHER.
