Product story

A Sculpted Marble Border: East Hampton Marble Deco Dado Trim

A honed white marble deco dado with a carved profile to add detail and frame your tiling — East Hampton from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

This deco dado is a trim piece — a decorative marble moulding with a shaped relief that catches the light, perfect for capping a half-tiled wall or introducing a classical dado line. Cut from genuine white marble with soft grey veining, it brings a touch of period elegance to bathrooms and hallways.

Sold individually, each length co-ordinates with the plainer East Hampton dado, the field tiles and the mosaics. As a natural stone it is unique piece to piece, and being real marble it should be sealed on installation to guard against moisture and staining.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Is the East Hampton Marble Deco Dado real marble?

Yes. It is a trim piece carved from genuine natural marble with a decorative relief profile, so every length carries its own unique grey veining.

What is a deco dado used for?

It is a decorative marble border that caps the top edge of a half-tiled wall or forms a classical dado line, co-ordinating with the East Hampton field tiles and mosaics.

Does the Deco Dado need sealing?

Yes. As natural marble it should be sealed before grouting and again after installation, and cleaned only with pH-neutral products — never vinegar, bleach or acidic cleaners.

How is the Deco Dado sold?

Individually, per piece — each length is 30.5cm, roughly 3.27 pieces per linear metre. Free cut samples are available to collect from our Ascot showroom or posted for a small charge.

Installation & Care Tips

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white, flexible natural-stone adhesive and a matching pale grout for a seamless transition to the field tiles.
  • Sealing & Care: Being real marble, seal before grouting and again once installed. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never vinegar, bleach or acidic products, which will etch natural marble.
  • Layout: Measure the run and allow for mitred cuts at corners; dry-lay the pieces first to plan neat joints with the surrounding tiling.
