Hand-Painted Andalucian Character: Andalucia Belmez 10 x 10cm

A vibrant, hand-painted Moorish decor in glazed ceramic at a classic 10 x 10cm — Andalucia Belmez from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

Belmez brings the sun-warmed romance of southern Spain to the wall, its intricate hand-painted motif drawn from centuries of Moorish tradition. Set a run edge to edge for a mesmerising repeat, or scatter it amongst plain Andalucia field tiles for a considered, collected feel.

Each tile is individually hand-decorated, so subtle shifts in brushwork and shade lend every wall a genuine artisanal depth. Finished in a lustrous gloss glaze, Belmez is made for internal walls, splashbacks and shower surrounds.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix to a sound, flat wall with a high-quality flexible tile adhesive, and choose a grout tone that lets the hand-painted pattern sing.
  • Layout Options: These are hand-painted tiles, so shade and brushwork vary from piece to piece — shuffle tiles from several boxes and work to a 3mm joint to celebrate that individuality.
  • Cleaning: Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent. This glazed ceramic needs no sealing and shrugs off splashes and steam.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tile suitable for floors?

No, the Andalucia Belmez 10x10cm tile is specifically designed for interior wall applications. Its glossy glaze and smaller format make it perfect for splashbacks and feature walls, but it is not recommended for floor traffic.

What is "Crazing"?

Crazing refers to the fine, hairline cracks that can develop in the glaze of ceramic tiles. In the Andalucia range, this is a deliberate characteristic designed to give the tile an authentic, antique, and artisanal appearance. It does not compromise the structure of the tile.

Do I need to seal these tiles?

No. Unlike natural stone or encaustic cement tiles, these are glazed ceramic. The glaze acts as a permanent protective barrier, so no sealing or specialized chemical maintenance is required.

How many tiles are in a square meter?

There are approximately 95 tiles per square meter for the 10 x 10cm size, accounting for a standard grout joint.

Can I use these behind a hob?

Yes, they are suitable for kitchen splashbacks, including the area behind a heat source, provided they are installed at least 30cm away from direct heat.
