Is Fired Earth Paint suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes, but choosing the right finish is essential. For bathroom and kitchen walls that may be exposed to moisture or steam, we recommend using the Eggshell finish. It is more resistant to condensation and easier to clean than standard Matt Emulsion. For kitchen splashbacks, many customers pair Fired Earth paint with our Fired Earth Kitchen Tiles for maximum protection and style.

How many coats of Fired Earth Paint will I need?

For the best depth of colour and a professional finish, we typically recommend two coats. Fired Earth paint is richly pigmented, offering excellent coverage; however, if you are painting a very light colour over a dark wall, a third coat or a dedicated primer may be required to achieve the true shade.

Can I use Fired Earth Paint on exterior surfaces?

Fired Earth does produce exterior finishes; however, our core online collection focuses on interior Matt Emulsion and Eggshell. If you require a specific exterior masonry or wood paint from the Fired Earth palette for a renovation project, please contact our Ascot showroom for a bespoke order.

Does Fired Earth Paint work with underfloor heating?

When using Fired Earth Floor Paint on wooden or concrete floors with underfloor heating, it is important to ensure the heating is turned off during application and the drying process. Once fully cured, the paint is designed to withstand the temperature fluctuations associated with modern heating systems.
