What is an internal field tile?

An internal field tile is a corner finishing piece where the tile face is curved (concave) to fit into a 90-degree internal corner. It replaces the standard butt-joint between two flat tiles, providing a smooth, rounded transition from one wall to the next.

Can these be used in a shower area?

Yes. These tiles are made of glazed ceramic and are fully suitable for wet wall environments. They are particularly popular in showers because the rounded corner is easier to wipe clean and prevents the buildup of mould in the corner junction.

Do I need special tools to install internal angles?

No special tools are required, but careful planning is needed to ensure the tiles align with the rest of your grid. Because these are relief pieces, you should ensure your substrate is level before installation to achieve a perfectly straight corner line.

How many do I need for a standard wall corner?

Each tile is 152mm high. To cover one linear metre of a vertical internal corner, you will need approximately 6.58 tiles. We recommend ordering an extra 10% to allow for cuts and wastage at the floor or ceiling levels.

Is the glaze the same as the standard field tiles?

Absolutely. These tiles are produced alongside the standard 152x152mm field tiles using the same translucent heritage glazes, ensuring a 100% colour match across your entire installation.
