Product story
A Tapered Four-Sided Piece For Turning A Straight Run
A trapezium has one pair of parallel sides and two that slope, and that taper is the whole point: it lets a run of tiles turn or fan where rectangles would have to be cut. Six shades are available from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Long and shallow at 149 x 36.5mm, it is a specialist component rather than a field tile. The taper allows a band to change direction, a border to negotiate an angle, or a series of pieces to radiate slightly instead of running dead straight. Because it is narrow, a trapezium band stays subordinate to whatever pattern it is serving.
It is made exactly as the rest of the plain shapes are: 9mm of vitrified ceramic, shade carried through the body, matt and unglazed on the face. Seal it once the floor is down, and use the piece on interior or exterior floors. If you are not sure how it fits your layout, send us the drawing and we will work it through with you.

For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Installation & care
- Setting Out: Dry-lay the full run of tapered pieces first; the cumulative angle is very difficult to judge from a drawing alone.
- Adhesive & Grout: A flexible adhesive and careful, even bedding matter here, as an unequal joint shows badly along a tapered run.
- Sealing & Cleaning: There is no glaze on this tile, so seal after grouting and keep to neutral cleaning products from then on.

Once an order has been placed, goods that are in stock can normally be dispatched within 3–5 working days. Delivery of special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware and sizeable orders is best carried out on one of our specialist off-load vehicles, so timescales will be advised before any tiles are ordered. A specific delivery date will be arranged to suit you.
