A Breath of Coastal Fresh Air: Stonehaven Stream Oak

Flowing with the gentle rhythm of the tides, Stonehaven Stream Oak is an engineered wood floor that brings the serene, sandy palette of the coastline into your home.

Part of the **Stonehaven** collection, Stream Oak is defined by its understated elegance. Unlike the grey of 'Strait Oak' or the deep warmth of 'Brook Oak', **Stream Oak** offers a balanced, neutral aesthetic with soft biscuit and sandy hues. It captures the essence of sun-bleached driftwood, providing a light and airy foundation for your interior. The **Rustic grade** ensures authenticity with visible knots and grain, while the wide 190mm planks and **UV Oil finish** create a floor that feels as natural as it looks.

Design Inspiration

🏖️ Coastal Retreat

The pale, natural tones invoke the feeling of sand dunes and driftwood. Combine with linen fabrics, woven rattan furniture, and soft blue accents for an effortless coastal vibe. Shop wood flooring.

🧘 Japandi Style

Stream Oak is the perfect base for the "Japandi" trend (Japanese minimalism meets Scandi function). The neutral wood tone provides warmth without clutter, allowing clean lines to shine. View engineered wood.

🪵 Natural Beauty

The UV Oil finish penetrates the wood rather than sitting on top like a varnish. This keeps the floor feeling organic to the touch while highlighting the beautiful grain structure of the oak. Browse oak flooring.

  • Installation Method: This versatile T&G board can be floated (glued joints) over underlay, secret nailed to a timber subfloor, or fully bonded to the screed.
  • Underfloor Heating: Compatible with water-based and electric UFH systems. To ensure maximum stability and heat transfer, the glue-down method is recommended.
  • Acclimatisation: Ensure the unopened packs are stored flat in the installation room for 3-4 days prior to fitting to acclimatise to the environment.
  • Cut Lengths: Packs include "cut lengths" (shorter boards). These are essential for starting/ending rows and staggering joints for a professional, random look.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is a UV Oiled finish?

A UV Oiled finish combines the natural look of oil with the durability of a lacquer. The oil is cured under UV light during manufacturing, creating a protective surface that resists dirt and wear better than traditional natural oils, while still feeling natural to the touch.

What is the wear layer?

It features a 3mm solid oak wear layer on top of a 11mm engineered plywood core. This provides the look and longevity of solid oak with superior stability against temperature changes.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes, Woodpecker Flooring provides an exceptional 100-year warranty on this product, covering the structural integrity of the planks for a lifetime.

Can I use this in a kitchen?

Yes, engineered oak is suitable for kitchens due to its stability. The UV Oil finish provides good resistance to spills, though liquids should always be wiped up immediately to prevent staining.

Is Stream Oak lighter than Rustic Oak?

Yes, generally. While Rustic Oak has a warmer, golden-honey tone, Stream Oak leans towards a paler, sandier hue. It is cleaner and more neutral, making it ideal for modern spaces that require a lighter touch.
