Rich Warmth & Coastal Calm: Stonehaven Brook Oak

Bring the warmth of a sunset glow to your interiors with Stonehaven Brook Oak—an engineered wood floor that combines deep, sherry-inspired tones with the serene beauty of the British coast.

Part of the Stonehaven collection, Brook Oak is distinguished by its brooding, sophisticated palette. The 190mm wide planks showcase a spectrum of colours from warm cherry to deep amber, offering a richness that anchors any room. The Rustic grade oak ensures the floor remains full of character, with natural knots and grain patterns visible beneath a protective UV Oil finish. This finish not only enriches the wood's natural hue but provides a durable, low-sheen surface that stands up to daily life.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is a UV Oiled finish?

A UV Oiled finish combines the natural look of oil with the durability of a lacquer. The oil is cured under UV light during manufacturing, creating a protective surface that resists dirt and wear better than traditional natural oils, while still feeling natural to the touch.

What is the wear layer?

It features a 3mm solid oak wear layer on top of a 11mm engineered plywood core. This provides the look and longevity of solid oak with superior stability against temperature changes.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes, Woodpecker Flooring provides an exceptional 100-year warranty on this product, covering the structural integrity of the planks for a lifetime.

Is the colour grey or brown?

Stonehaven Brook Oak is definitely in the warm spectrum. It features rich sherry, cherry, and deep amber tones. It is not a grey floor; if you are looking for grey, check the "Strait Oak" or "Harbour Oak" in the Stonehaven range.

Can I use this in a kitchen?

Yes, engineered oak is suitable for kitchens due to its stability. The UV Oil finish provides good resistance to spills, though liquids should always be wiped up immediately to prevent staining.

Installation & Care Tips

⚠️ Installation & care

  • Installation Method: This versatile T&G board can be floated (with glued joints) over underlay, nailed to a wooden subfloor, or fully bonded to the screed.
  • Underfloor Heating: Compatible with UFH systems. To ensure stability and efficient heat transfer, the glue-down method is highly recommended.
  • Acclimatisation: Ensure the packs are stored flat in the room where they will be laid for 3-4 days before installation to allow the wood to adjust.
  • Cut Lengths: Packs include "cut lengths" (shorter boards) to help you stagger joints naturally for a professional finish.
