Palatial Elegance: Sandringham Limed Oak Panels

Transform your floor into a work of art with Sandringham Limed Oak Design Panels—an exquisite engineered wood floor inspired by the grandeur of 17th-century Versailles, reimagined with a contemporary white-washed finish.

Part of Woodpecker's exclusive Signature collection, each Sandringham panel is a statement piece. Hand-assembled by skilled artisans, the panel features an intricate geometric weave of oak blocks. The "Limed" finish washes the timber in pale, chalky hues, highlighting the grain and softening the overall look to create a light, airy, and sophisticated atmosphere. This is flooring for those who seek the history of a French chateau with the brightness of modern interior design.

Installation & care

⚠️ Installation & Lead Times

  • Made to Order: Because of the intricate hand-assembly required for the Sandringham pattern, stock levels fluctuate. Please verify lead times with us (typically up to 6-8 weeks) before booking your fitter.
  • Installation Method: For Design Panels, we strongly recommend a full glue-down installation. This ensures the large square panels remain stable and flat.
  • Underfloor Heating: These panels are compatible with UFH systems, but they must be fully adhered to the subfloor to prevent movement and ensure efficient heat transfer.
  • Rustic Character: The Rustic grade means you will see knots and natural colour variation within the geometric pattern, enhancing the authentic "historic" look.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is a "Limed" finish?

A limed finish (often called cerused or white-washed) involves applying a white oil or paste into the grain of the wood. This highlights the natural patterns of the oak and lightens the overall colour to a pale, sophisticated grey-white tone, perfect for airy interiors.

Are these panels hard to install?

They use a Tongue & Groove system, but due to their size (750x750mm) and the precise geometric pattern, they require a higher level of skill to align perfectly than standard planks. We strongly recommend using a professional fitter and the full glue-down method.

What is the wear layer?

Each panel features a substantial 4mm solid oak wear layer bonded to a stable engineered ply base. This gives the look and longevity of solid wood with the stability required for large format panels.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes, despite being intricate design panels, they are built to last. Woodpecker Flooring provides a 100-year warranty on the structural integrity of this product.

Is this suitable for Underfloor Heating?

Yes, but strict installation guidelines apply. The panels must be fully stuck down to the screed/subfloor to ensure they perform correctly with the heating system. Floating installation is not recommended for design panels over UFH.
