Timeless Depth & Texture: Highgrove Aged Oak

Immerse your home in the rich history of artisan woodworking with Highgrove Aged Oak Design Panels—an engineered wood floor that combines a unique woven geometric pattern with the deep, soulful character of antique timber.

Part of the prestigious Woodpecker Signature collection, the Highgrove panel features a captivating interlaced design, hand-assembled to create a floor with incredible structural depth. The Aged Oak finish takes this geometric artistry to the next level; a specialized hardwax oil is used to darken the grain and highlight knots, mimicking the burnished, time-worn patina of a floor that has been walked upon for centuries.

⚠️ Installation & Lead Times

  • Made to Order: Due to the intricate hand-assembly required for the Highgrove pattern, these panels are typically made to order. Please contact us to confirm lead times (usually 6-8 weeks) before booking your fitter.
  • Installation Method: For Design Panels, we strongly recommend a full glue-down installation. This ensures the large square panels remain stable, flat, and perfectly aligned.
  • Underfloor Heating: Fully compatible with UFH systems, but the panels must be fully adhered to the subfloor to prevent movement and ensure optimal heat transfer.
  • Maintenance: The hardwax oil finish is durable and easy to spot-repair. Regular cleaning with Woodpecker's specific oiled wood cleaner will keep the Aged Oak finish rich and nourished.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between "Highgrove" and "Sandringham"?

Both are magnificent Design Panels. Sandringham features the classic Versailles "cross" pattern. Highgrove features a unique "woven" geometric design, where the blocks appear to interlace, creating a different visual rhythm.

How dark is "Aged Oak"?

"Aged Oak" is darker and richer than the "Royal Oak" finish. It features burnished edges, filled knots, and a deepened grain colour that mimics antique timber found in historic buildings, whereas Royal Oak is a warmer, traditional golden brown.

Can I install this myself?

Installation of Design Panels is complex. The large square format (750mm) and precise geometric pattern require expert alignment. We strongly recommend using a professional floor fitter experienced with glue-down installations.

What is the wear layer?

The panel features a robust 4mm solid oak wear layer bonded to a high-quality engineered core. This ensures the floor has the visual appeal and longevity of solid wood and can be sanded in the future if required.

Is it suitable for Underfloor Heating?

Yes, Highgrove panels are fully compatible with UFH. However, they must be fully adhered (glued) to the subfloor to ensure stability and heat performance. Floating installation is not recommended for Design Panels over UFH.
