Deep Heritage Green: Retro Metro Green Park 7.5 x 15cm

A rich, bottle-green metro tile with an authentic crackle glaze — Retro Metro Green Park from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

Paying homage to the tiling of the London Underground, Green Park brings a deep, verdant drama that instantly feels considered and sophisticated. The thick, glossy glaze carries a deliberate crackle (crazing) that catches the light and lends antique character to every tile — no two are quite alike.

The versatile 7.5 x 15cm brick format opens up brick-bond, herringbone and stack layouts, ideal for cloakrooms, kitchen splashbacks and fireplace surrounds. As a glazed ceramic wall tile it is for interior walls; we recommend sealing the crackle glaze before grouting.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix to interior walls with a flexible adhesive suitable for glazed ceramic, using a fine 2–3mm joint.
  • Sealing: Seal the crackle glaze before grouting to stop grout pigment settling into the crazing, then seal again afterwards for a watertight finish.
  • Cleaning: Wipe clean with warm water and a soft cloth; avoid abrasive pads. Test dark grout on a spare tile first, as it can emphasise the crazing.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this tile need sealing?

The "crackle" effect is created by the glaze cooling at a different rate to the clay body, causing minute fissures. While beautiful, these tiny cracks can absorb water or grout dye. Sealing creates a barrier that keeps the tile waterproof and stain-resistant.

What colour is Green Park?

It is a rich, deep bottle green. It is darker than emerald but has a glossy translucency that prevents it from looking flat black. It pairs beautifully with gold or brass taps and dark wood accents.

Can I use this in a shower?

Yes, absolutely. As long as the tiles are properly sealed during installation, they are perfectly durable for shower walls and bathroom splashbacks.

What pattern should I lay them in?

The 7.5cm x 15cm size is the classic "subway" ratio.

  • Brick Bond: The most traditional look (like a brick wall).
  • Herringbone: Creates a sophisticated, high-end zig-zag pattern.
  • Vertical Stack: A modern twist that can make ceilings feel higher.
