A deep, rich dark-brown wood-effect porcelain plank in a realistic 20 x 120cm format — Origin Plank Dark from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

The long 20 x 120cm plank recreates the proportions and grain of a real timber board, printed and fired into hard-wearing porcelain. The Dark shade brings a handsome, characterful walnut depth to living spaces, kitchens and bathrooms.

Made from high-quality porcelain, it offers the beauty of a wooden floor with none of the sealing, warping or wear — suitable for internal walls and floors, wet-room walls and underfloor heating.

Installation & care

Adhesive & Grout: Long planks need a solid-bed fix with an S1 flexible adhesive; use a tonal grout close to the wood tone for a seamless look.
Layout Options: Lay with a 3mm joint and a maximum 30% brick-bond offset to keep planks flat, shuffling from several boxes to vary the grain.
Cleaning: Sweep and mop with warm water and a mild floor cleaner. Glazed porcelain needs no sealing and resists scratches, moisture and stains.

Samples

Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Is Origin real wood?

No. Origin is a high-quality porcelain that recreates the warmth and grain of natural timber, without the maintenance, warping or wear of real wood.

Does Origin need sealing?

No. Glazed porcelain is impervious and needs no sealing. Simply grout and keep clean with a mild floor cleaner.

Where can I use Origin?

Origin suits internal walls and floors throughout the home, including bathrooms, wet-room walls, kitchens and living spaces, and works beautifully over underfloor heating.

Can I order a sample?
