Zellige tiles are celebrated for their ancient handcrafting techniques, imparting a unique appeal. Each tile carries its own individual character, marked by small imperfections such as tiny cracks and chips that highlight its rustic nature. These are not flaws but rather an expression of its authentic charm.

Each tile is hand-moulded and hand-cut, ensuring no two are identical. This artisanal process results in a variety of colours, textures, and sizes, showcasing the true essence of Zellige tiles. Due to traditional hand-glazing methods, the glaze colours on the tiles may vary, meaning the tiles you receive could differ slightly from samples or displays in showrooms. This variation is part of the enchanting beauty of Zellige.

For optimal aesthetic results, it is recommended to blend Zellige tiles before installation. Avoid installing them directly from the box; instead, unbox and arrange all the tiles, mixing them to achieve a well-distributed blend of colours and imperfections.

Given the significant colour and texture variation inherent in our handmade Zellige tiles, we advise sampling multiple pieces to fully appreciate their distinctive qualities.

For tile cuts, breakages, and future repairs, a standard overage of 10% is suggested. However, if your project aims to minimise natural imperfections for a less authentic appearance, consider increasing your overage to 20% for selective choices.
