Product Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Random Mix" mean?

The Random Mix box contains a varied assortment of different vintage, encaustic-style patterns from the De-Segni range. They are packaged randomly in sets (typically 24 pieces), allowing you to create a unique, patchwork-style layout that is entirely bespoke to your room.

Do these tiles need to be sealed?

No. While they beautifully mimic the look of traditional porous cement or encaustic tiles, they are made from modern glazed porcelain. This means they are completely non-porous, highly stain-resistant, and do not require any sealing or specialist maintenance.

Can I use them on the floor?

Yes. At 10mm thick, these porcelain tiles are incredibly robust and fully suitable for floor use. The R10 matt finish also provides a great level of slip resistance, making them ideal for hallways, kitchens, and bathrooms.

What colour is "Osso"?

"Osso" translates to bone in Italian. The base colour is a warm, soft off-white/beige, complemented by warmer patterned detailing, distinguishing it from the starker monochrome designs in other collections.

Installation & Care Tips

⚠️ Installation & care

Suitability: Rated for both Walls and Floors. It is fully frost-resistant and suitable for varied environments.
Pattern Distribution: These tiles are supplied as a random assortment of patterns. We strongly recommend taking tiles from several boxes and laying them out "dry" before fixing to ensure an even and pleasing distribution of designs across your space.
Adhesive & Grout: Use a flexible cement-based adhesive. A neutral, warm grey or beige grout is recommended to blend seamlessly with the Osso (bone) base colourway.
Maintenance: Unlike real cement encaustic tiles, this glazed porcelain is completely non-porous. It does not require sealing and can be easily cleaned with standard neutral floor detergents.
