Off-White That Softens a Whole Floor

Chalk is the warm off-white that sits underneath most of the Odyssey Grande patterns, and having it as a plain 298mm porcelain square lets you extend that background across an entire room, available from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

Because it is the ground colour of the patterned designs, it joins them seamlessly: a chalk field can run out of a patterned panel with no visible break in tone. On its own it gives a room the softness of limewash without the fragility, which suits older houses where a stark white would look imported.

Dimensions are 298 x 298mm with an 8mm porcelain body, matt, straight-edged. Each tile presents 0.0888m² of surface. The supplier boxes them six at a time and states coverage as 11.11 tiles per square metre. Use outside on walls and floors is within the rating, so the same off-white can appear on a sheltered terrace.

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Because these perfectly proportioned tiles measure approximately 30x30cm, you will need approximately 11.11 pieces to cover one square metre (m²). Simply calculate your total required square meterage for your floor or wall (we advise adding an additional 10% for cuts and natural wastage), and multiply by 11.11 (rounding up to the nearest whole tile) to find out exactly how many pieces you need to order to complete your project.

Finished in a soft, matt off-white 'Chalk', it offers a wonderfully neutral base. Yes. Crafted from premium, high-density porcelain, these plain tiles are exceptionally durable and fully suitable for internal wet and dry areas, including bathroom floors, wet rooms, and kitchens, as well as external patio spaces and pathways.

Do I need to seal these porcelain tiles before grouting?

The modern porcelain construction of the Bolero tile is highly resilient and generally does not require sealing like traditional cement or encaustic tiles. However, we always recommend consulting the manufacturer's specific guidelines or testing a small area before grouting to ensure optimal protection and easy everyday maintenance.

Installation & care

Adhesive & Grout: Choose a light-coloured adhesive so nothing darkens the tile from behind, and a flexible grout trialled on a spare piece before the floor is jointed.
Layout: Keep the joints tight and consistent; on a pale floor an uneven grout width shows up far more than a slightly off-square wall ever will.
Cleaning: A sealer should go on before the joints are filled, and again when residue left by grouting has been fully removed — that is the supplier's own recommendation. Use a neutral cleaner and change the water often, since a pale matt surface shows a dirty mop faster than a dark one does.
