Deep Monochrome Marble: Chequers Court Black
A plain 30.5 x 30.5cm tile in genuine honed black marble — Chequers Court Black from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.
The heart of a classic chequerboard, this deep black marble pairs with Chequers Court White to create the timeless monochrome floors of grand hallways and country houses. Laid alone, it makes a dramatic, sophisticated statement.
Honed to a smooth matt finish, each tile is natural marble with subtle tonal movement. As a porous stone it should be sealed — particularly important with a dark marble — to protect against moisture and staining.

⚠ Installation & Care Tips
- Adhesive & Grout: Use a flexible adhesive and a dark, tonal grout. Seal the marble before grouting so the surface does not pick up staining.
- Layout Options: Lay alone for drama or alternate with Chequers Court White for a classic chequerboard, with a fine 3mm joint.
- Cleaning: Clean with warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner, never acidic or bleach-based products. Re-seal periodically to keep the marble protected.

Delivery And Returns
Access Issues For Large Pallet Deliveries
Our delivery drivers may be prevented from delivering your order by the following:
• Low hanging trees and bridges.
• Narrow roads, gateways, or cars on either side of the road.
• No turning point for the delivery vehicle.
• Unfinished tracks and roads.
• Lack of solid and flat surface to unload.
• Gravel driveways.
If access issues are not advised and/or delivery cannot be made due to unattendance at delivery, a re-delivery charge may be applied.
Checking Orders
Check your delivery as soon as it arrives!
Once the goods are unloaded, they become the responsibility of the receiver.
If you notice any issues with your order, please contact us within three working days so we can resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. Prompt reporting helps us ensure your satisfaction with our products and services.
Fired Earth Tile Returns
Returns are accepted only for complete orders; partial orders cannot be accepted. To begin a return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your delivery.
All other Brands
You may return your items within 14 days of receiving or collecting your delivery. Please note that a restocking fee of 20% to 30% will apply, depending on the specific terms of the product range. For further details, feel free to contact us.

Orders for special order items are non-returnable unless they are damaged on delivery or are faulty.

Shipping Information
Once an order has been placed goods that are in stock, can normally be dispatched for delivery within 3-5 working days. Delivery of special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware and sizeable orders is best carried out on one of our specialist off-load vehicles, so timescales will be advised before any tiles are ordered. A specific delivery date will be arranged to suit you.
